How close is your end weight to your initial goal weight?

Sorry for the clunky title!

So when I started this journey I had a goal weight in mind of 64kg (which felt achievable). When I got there I still felt like I was carrying a lot of fat around my middle and thighs so wanted to continue.

I am now at 61.5kg which puts me at a BMI of 24 (I am 5ft 2in so quite short and apple shaped)

I still have stomach and thigh fat but other than a bit of overhang and wrinkle stomach skin from pregnancy, my stomach is looking so much better and I am toying with the idea of wearing a bikini on holiday!

I think I’d like to get to 60kg now which puts me at about a BMI of 23.5. I don’t want to start looking gaunt or lose what is left of my breasts (which still look decent for a woman in her 40’s I think 😂)

Ive only ever taken low doses so feel lucky at that and the weight came off and continues to come off slowly but easily.

So after that ramble, what did you stop at and is it close to what you thought you’d stop at?

I need to lose about 12 stone to get to a healthy BMI - that’s a whole person! So I try not to think about the end goal, I’m setting myself mini targets and celebrating each little success. I am currently 4lbs away from my first target and have lost over 10% of my body weight so far which I’m really happy with. When I’ve lost this 4lbs then I will think about my next target and go from there. I’m trying not to look at the mountain I have to climb and not to think too much about the final end goal.

Sorry I’ve just realised I misread your post and this isn’t what you were asking at all 🤦‍♀️🤣

Paperwhite13 · 20/02/2025 10:26

My initial GW was 154lbs but I lowered it to 147lbs. I'm now 147.4lbs (with a BMI of 22.6) so super close.

I'd be very happy to maintain around 145-150lbs so may drop it to 145lbs but I definitely won't go under that.

I never thought I'd get close to 154lbs when I first started!

Same! When I chose 64kg I was convinced it was a pipe dream!

I have never felt so good and healthy and I feel like a new person. I just don’t want to take it too far and then not be able to maintain it.

I am trying to embrace my new body with all its new flaws

I have never really had a goal weight I have lost 4 stone so far and am just seeing how it goes. Putting big goals doesn't seem to help me

Goinghome24 · 20/02/2025 11:46

My goal is 10.7st then I will see how I feel. Im 5ft4. At my fittest I was around this. At my skinniest aged 19 I was 9st.

Tulipsandaffodils · 20/02/2025 11:58

My goal was originally 23 bmi. Which I am a stone away from. I am now thinking 22, but I know absolutely I won’t go below that. It is only half a stone difference, but gives me leeway.

so fairly close, I reckon It will be between 22 and 23 bmi.

WeeklyJab · 20/02/2025 12:02

Christ, my goal is higher than your starting points, I think!

I was BMI of an eye watering 48. My goal is a BMI of 30, which feels like a pipe dream. If I could to 25 I think I’d die of shock.

Eminybob · 20/02/2025 12:18

My initial goal weight was 10st. That put me just in the healthy BMI range by about 5lb.

I always planned to give myself a buffer, so when I got to goal weight I decided to drop it to 9st 7lb. Not because I wasn't happy with how I looked, but just to be a bit further into the healthy range.

Then I reached that and although only half-heartedly I have set my sights on 9st.

I'm currently 9st 1.5lb.

That'll be me done though.

Eminybob · 20/02/2025 12:19

I started at 15st 11lb btw so a total loss of 6.5stone!

Dueanamechange2025 · 20/02/2025 12:20

I can't think about an end weight either, it feels too far and unachievable. Also going on the smaller interim goals.

I have lost 10% of my body weight so far, I would like to hit the next stone bracket before my holiday in four weeks, that would be a 3 stone loss.

I am not sure I have every been in the healthy BMI range whilst I have been an adult.

12purplepencils · 20/02/2025 12:53

My initial goal is BMI of 27 (so it makes me chuckle to myself when I see threads from people at this starting bmi asking how to get the injections!)

I started BMI 35 and am currently at 30. It's very slow progress for me (7 months so far) but as long as the scales are moving in the right direction I'm happy.

I don't want to let go of my identity as a fuller figured woman I suppose and am worried about my face and boobs and looking older as well as hair loss etc

TwirlyWitch · 20/02/2025 13:05

I started at 16stone 6lbs and never dreamt I could or would achieve a healthy BMI. I’m currently 9lbs away from that and plan to stop losing ( and jabbing eeek!) when I get there.
I still have visible fat to lose but the loose skin, deflated boobs and the fear of looking haggard tells me to stop at 9stone 6 which is the very top weight for BMI 25.

MumBikini · 20/02/2025 13:07

I've never worn a bikini in my life and I'm approaching 50! It's on my bucket list! I am planning to stop mounjaro when I feel confident to wear a bikini! Though for me, given I'm an apple with a huge belly, that might not be til BMI 20!

ThirdStorm · 20/02/2025 13:26

My goal was BMI 25 but I've ended up a few months later settling at 23.5. That feels about right for me. Now the hard work starts - maintaining at this weight.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 20/02/2025 13:36

Like@scanni, I’m not great with ‘big’ goals and have worked through over 6 stone of loss with a series of little targets. It was only when I moved to Pharmulous that I was asked what my goal was and I set an arbitrary one of 9 stone (23 bmi). I’m about a stone and a half away now and can see it IS ACTUALLY physically achievable but I have no idea what it will look like so may well stop higher or go lower.

Like everything else with MJ, it’s a bit of a ‘try it and see’ exercise!

HansHolbein · 20/02/2025 13:48

Right now my goal is 9st BMI 21. It’s not set in stone though.

HappyPie82 · 20/02/2025 14:30

Initially I'm aiming for 70kg from SW of 94kg
NHS says healthy would be between 50.8-68kg but I think at 50 i would genuinely be a stick. We want to get pregnant again this year so aiming for 70kg by the autumn and hopefully not gain too much during pregnancy ( gained nothing during my last due to HG)

MJqueen · 20/02/2025 15:26

My starting weight was 120kg and initial absolute dream goal was 75kg although I only really expected to get to 80-85kg.

I'm currently, 11 months in, hovering around 72-73kg and feel like I'm about done. Maybe down to 68-70kg but if I can stay where I am now long term I will be thrilled.

Body is completely haggard but I honestly don't care. My health and fitness are through the roof and I feel fabulous.

Blimey that’s amazing! I am Week 6 & have lost 10kg but can’t fathom losing another 40kg though I deffo need to.
What dose are you on?

FlatStanley50 · 20/02/2025 16:39

My initial target was 24.8 BMI (9 stone). I am now 8 stone 7, aiming for 8 stone - 21.4 BMI, so right in the middle of a healthy BMI, which I figure will give me some leeway. I have lost 2.5 stone -started off at BMI 30. I never thought I'd be thinking I could get to 8 stone but it has been slow and steady and quite easy, and I still have flabby thighs/ stomach so I want to lose a bit more without looking too haggard (I am 50 and my neck is beginning to look a bit ozempic-y now). NB I am 5 foot and 1/2 an inch, so pretty short.

tiptopandticketyboo · 20/02/2025 16:55

@FlatStanley50 my stats are identical to yours, right down to the half inch. I’m a couple of years older though. I’m now at 9 stone 7 and my neck is the most disappointing thing. I can’t imagine how it’s going to look at 8.7 - my original target although I can see I will be happier at 8 stone - as you say still only the middle of healthy bmi.

Tohaveandtohold · 20/02/2025 16:57

My initial target was to get to a BMI of 27 ( down from 33) because that’s always been where my BMI has sat for most of my adult life till 2 years ago when I started to gain weight. I’ve always felt confident there and I still have my ‘bum’ because I have very tiny chest so I wanted to keep that. I always planned to only buy 4 pens and go it alone if that didn’t get me there.

I got to a BMI of 27 within 3 months and my bum was the first place I lost weight even with all the weights training I was doing and as I still had a pen left i had to use it to try and get to a BMI of under 25.
I’m now a BMI of 24.8 and finished with MJ, just doing lots of weights training now to tone up and may lose some more weight to get to 24

Disappointing is a good word for it. I need to look into creams and things I think - anyone know any miracle neck saving creams?

TheChosenTwo · 20/02/2025 19:03

I don’t have a goal in mind, I’ve currently lost just over 3.5 stone in 16 weeks which sounds like an awful lot to have shifted very quickly. But I started at 16 stone with a BMI of 35 and am now 12 stone 5 with a BMI of 27.5. I’m 5’7.
I look a lot less puffy and my shoulders are looking less broad, but I still have a fair bit to shift realistically. I’ll just keep going until I either can’t be prescribed any more or when I think I’m done.
Although obviously the weight loss figures are a big motivator, I predominantly started on MJ as I was beginning to feel uncomfortable in my body and the wear and tear was becoming something I couldn’t ignore. I am aiming for longevity in my later years so whatever I can do now at 40 to help myself I will.
