Tell me you’re on Mounjaro without telling me you are (lighthearted)

  • You suddenly drink gallons of herbal tea
  • Your weekly shop is £100 less than it used to be due to not wanting alcohol, snacks etc
  • All your clothes are either way too big or slightly too small, as you are buying in anticipation of losing more weight (which you do)
  • You have so much energy and focus that you are tackling every project and dyi job that has accumulated over the years. You are hanging curtains, restoring furniture, organising drawers, and knitting 4 blankets in a row
  • You no longer have insomnia
  • You now look at pasta, bread, rice and couscous with great suspicion and a little fear
  • You are considering a beach holiday next summer for the first time in years
  • Having studiously avoided scales for a decade, you now weigh yourself twice a day, just for fun

What are yours?

I no longer have to use a mirror to tidy up 'down there' 😲

I have a jaw line, cheekbones and even collar bones!
I like having my photo taken (especially with my kids, I've really missed that)
I'm seeing friends I hadn't seen for ages (very sadly, I ducked out of a friend's milestone birthday reunion party last year as I dreaded people judging me for the weight I'd gained and feeling sorry for me....)
I look forward to getting on the scales every morning, and I don't feel sad if I've put on a couple of pounds as I know the general trend is downwards.
I look forward to eating healthy meals and drive past KFC with a smug smile.
Well done to all of us!

All of the above!

Biggest one for me is buying clothes that I love, rather than what covers my belly. I really feel like me again, I realise I do have a style and I like it!

Definitely this. I've stopped obsessing over what will cover my body and started wearing flattering clothes. Everything looks nice now! Mounjaro has been an absolute godsend.

ViolaPlains · 14/12/2024 09:31

I went on a Christmas doo with my blouse tucked in instead of wearing something long to cover me.

I've got shoulder bones - really weird!

Yes! For the last 2 or 3 years, I’ve avoided having my photo taken and I’ve deleted photos from my husband’s phone when he’s not looking. I could list each and every photo friends have posted on SM where I looked fat.

My son came home yesterday (he lives with friends) and the first thing he said to me was ‘you look really skinny’. I was thrilled (I’m not skinny btw).

Pyjamatimenow · 14/12/2024 10:05

I no longer have eczema or acne.

Lola3034 · 14/12/2024 10:28

Too much info but I don't seem to sweat much any more! Before I started Mounjaro I was sweating a lot and it had almost acidic smell to it.

Forgot about that one! Before when I did a workout class I'd be dripping. I thought it meant I was trying harder than everyone else. But now I barely break a sweat!

Being able to look at myself in the changing room mirror. Actually trying on clothes in shops rather than buying without trying on

After 7 years in a sex less marriage, with a husband with early onset dementia from alcohol abuse... I have a lover... I had the confidence to believe it's not over for me...

I'm going to look after him for the rest of my life. I am extremely discrete and my 'friend' completely understands the situation. Now I have someone who cares for me rather than the relentless one way street of caring for someone who chose to kill himself with alcohol to the point of dementia.

I lie in bed and constantly run my hands over my flat abdomen. I’ve missed my hip bones!

If I’m in my dressing gown, I’m often to be found holding it open and admiring my naked self in full length mirrors. I have avoided looking at my body for 2 years.

Kate Moss was so right when she said ‘nothing tastes as good as skinny feels’.

What happened to the saggy skin? Did it melt away?

I wasn’t massively overweight so I’ve been lucky to not get any saggy skin.

LionAndEmperor13 · 14/12/2024 23:50

Same, luckily no saggy skin here either. I think a lot of that is genetics too. I've never had cellulite either (not bragging, just a fact. Even though I used to smoke - a lot- and drank loads of coffee. I don't think those things make any difference at all in the end!).
I do now have wrinkles on my face though, which I didn't have when I carried more weight. Swings and roundabouts!
