I was doing well on 2.5 then went up to 3.75 and had a bad reaction very bad tum upset for around 5 days. I think it was due to large fatty meal and some alcohol. I have had a few weeks off it due to having family things that just couldn’t be ill at. If I am honest the side effects scared me but I feel it has been good to be off for a bit as getting cravings and appetite back although I am still trying to eat healthy options but having a few treats and keeping up the exercise. Determined not to regain the weight lost although still got 2 stone to lose.
I still have 1 pen left so going to restart this week complete that pen and see how I am.
Has anyone had a break and restarted ? If so how did you get on ?

Hi OP . I am doing that this week as since I went on to 5mg I have had awful side effects that have not really settled . I tried 3.75 but still felt bad.
Taking a week off now and will take 2.5 again next week.
I am sure it's fine ??

I've been 18 months on the GLP1s this is my long running thread. I doubt you have the time to read it all. If you do you will see I stopped for three months. I gained 10lb and it has taken me all year to drop it. I would say don't do it based on my sample of one.

I have stuck to 2.5 and had a month off because I felt like I was in control. Weight loss carried on. Just started again in anticipation of Christmas. Some people do well at low and slow doses (I’ve always jabbed every 10 days). But I’ve accepted some hunger…just knowing I can take it if I need to is enough to boost my willpower.

Sounds like a sensible way to do it @tiptopandticketyboo and like you have got into good habits. That’s how I feel in control which feels fantastic.

I’m thinking of taking some time off and restarting.

iv been on it 15 weeks now and was on 7.5mg. The last 4 weeks have been torture. Had chronic diarrhoea and stomach cramps. I took 5mg on Tuesday morning and again I’m still cramping and in pain and have diarrhoea.

i think I’m going to come off and restart on 2.5 after iv been away next week.

iv currently lost 4 stone and really don’t want to put it back on :(

Sounds like what happened to me . Never had stomach issues like it . And Immodium ( which stops 'normal' diahorrea ) having NO effect whatsoever. Weird .

WaffleDogg20 · 28/11/2024 22:28

Yep exactly the same here. Iv ended up in the doctors multiple times because I can’t leave my house. It’s literally explosive iv never known anything like it. Stomach pain and sulphur burps too. I’m so upset tbh. I don’t know what else to do :( I have so much weight to lose still :(

DollyPop100 · 30/11/2024 08:29

Stopping for me for a month has really helped as cravings have come back a bit but no where as bad as used to be and with weight I have lost on mj it has kept me going to think don’t want to gain it back. Been keeping up the activity, drinking plenty of water and just continuing to eat better and if I fancy a small bar of something I have had it, not felt guilty and feel am in control. I haven’t lost anything but feel still losing inches and not gained at all on scales like I thought I would. I am planning to start back on it this week and will go back to 2.5 as still 2 stone to go but thinking will see how I get one tbh will be happy with another 10 pounds if I can. Tried so hard for 6 months before starting mj and didn’t lose but the weight I have lost has made me determined and motivated to keep it off. Mj great re food noise but think it has been really important for me to put in the effect too of activity and making better food choices. I found when I ate fatty meals on mj side effects were awful anyway .

Isn't that a real waste as you would only be able to take 3 doses per pen?

Every 10 days is 4 doses. Day 1, Day 11, Day 21, Day 31.

My side effects settled from 10mg. I only get side effects now if I inject later than every 7 days. I've been on 15mg for 4 months and trying to space out the time between injections as it's getting so expensive. But the longer I go the more side effects I have. Haven't had a sulphur burp for months until now. No bad tummy since the 7.5 though.. now it's mainly constipation 😭

OMG I can't believe I got that so wrong Blush

really pleased with my weight loss so far, not had it for a month though as wasn’t well. Had real hunger and felt like not in control of eating again which haven’t felt since Sept when started mj. Going to restart mon on 2.5 planning to keep up exercise and get back on track. I am determined not to gain weight back and it has been interesting to see what I have been like not taking it. Only really had 1 bad day so not getting to down and getting back in it but just show will have to keep in good mindset and exercise to keep on track. Change to cold weather always difficult time for me but getting out when I can to run and walk.
