Just gone back up to 14mg everyday after a few months on alternate days. Weight loss continued for 4 weeks but then nothing and definitely able to eat more. I think the first 4 weeks was the higher dose wearing off, but since then alternate days is a maintainance dose. The full dose effects have kicked back in quickly so fingers crossed for that last few lbs..

I was off for 4 or 5 weeks, put on two pound. I've started back on 7mg TODAY. I was gonna wait till after Christmas but it will save a lot of money to start back. I have two months of 7mg left and six weeks of 14mg. Just had a full English and had to give the bacon to oh. I'm lucky it works instantly for me.

Thanks for the new thread @Doggymummar

a bit of a weird week here - we all had a stomach bug. I had a few days off the tablets as I was struggling to keep anything down. Feel quite nauseous still - not sure if it’s the rybelsus or remnants of the bug.

hoping that Monday’s weigh in is positive! I was going to move up to 14 this week, but leaving it another week I think to see how this nausea goes.

Stomach bugs are the worst@Dinosaurpoo especially with it being everyone. I hope the scales work in your favour at least. I am day two back on 7mg and my mouth has already got the coating which makes everything taste bad. I am pleased cos last night after no alcohol since march I had a few home poured vodkas and I feel it today.

Thanks for the new thread @Doggymummar ! Sorry to hear about the cold @Dinosaurpoo , also been down with the lurgy a bunch and it isn't fun 😭

I'm still plodding along, I had some leftover 3mg and 7mg so bridging the gap to 10mg before I jump finally to 14! I react pretty heavily to the meds I've found, so just moving up cautiously.

10mg I've really noticed I'm getting fuller quicker, half eating meals and just leaving them at this point. Weight loss is steady, around 1-2lbs a week, and I'm coming up to the 2 stone loss milestone woohoo!

How is everybody else doing?

Amazing well done @JaffacakeJanine it all adds up doesn't it. I seem to have gained 4lb overnight even my app said ' don't worry this is a blup' or words to that effect but that had put my weightloss back to 23 September which is annoying hopefully it's just bloat from flying and will be gone in a day or two. I've got a bottle of rose to drink and hoping it tastes like vinegar like it did at the beginning 😅

Thanks @Doggymummar everyone is fully recovered now and I’ve finally caught up on all the extra washing!

@JaffacakeJanine 2 stone is amazing.

I’ve lost my first stone now since starting mid September. Pretty happy with that. I’m still on the 7 and feeling really full and struggling to finish most meals. I think I’m in very low calorie because I’m always freezing! Rybelsus is going to cost me a fortune in fuel!

Hi all, I’m glad I found this thread as I have just started on the 3mg so hoping to share my journey alongside you all. I was reading a bit obsessively about the side effects. My doctor gave me a pack of the 3mg and a pack of 7mg tablets as I’m home for Christmas (don’t live in the UK). Very nervous as this is a drastic move for me but needs to be done as the past three years has shown I can’t do it alone.

how have you all found it? It’s been 33 minutes since I took the tablet and I’m hyper vigilant about the side effects. Luckily I don’t eat breakfast till mid morning so don’t feel any different till normal.

I’m hoping to not had too bad side effects so I can continue working out. Any tips/things I should be aware of?

Welcome @RedRum27 ! I think main problems I see are people moving up too quickly on the tablets, I've been trying to stay mindful of how I'm feeling on them, and moving up once I'm starting to lose effectivity, Vs moving up to 7mg after a month.

I think many of the horror stories you hear of people unable to eat, sick, vomiting, etc are people who moved up before their body was used to the medication. So depending on how you react to the 3mg, you might end up wanting to split your 7mgs if the 3mg by itself is working okay for you. It does seem like their is a wide range of reactivity in users, for example I know of some who haven't ever needed to take more than 3mg, and others who 3mg didn't work at all!

The meds also build up over time, so it doesn't start as effective and it will build up over time.

My other advice is get lots of multivitamins - vitamin B12 is a big one for me, and I also have some fibre supplements and iron supplements. Try and focus on eating more protein. Same goes with fibre. You are quite likely to have some sort of toilet issue on these meds so make sure you have something handy for it in case!

Finally, the meds do repress hunger, but I also have to keep an eye on what I'm eating calorie wise on top of it as it's still easy to go over if you are eating calorifically dense stuff. I see Rybelsus more as a tool to help you along Vs a miracle cure. A tool enabling people who haven't got strong satiety cues to manage it.

That was Jaffa's Comprehensive Guide to Starting Rybelsus 😆😆😆

Oh yeah, and you are likely to be tired in the first few weeks, but I now don't have fatigue at all. Again it's just your body getting used to the medication.

That’s really helpful thank you @JaffacakeJanine day 1 was ok, I felt hungry as in stomach rumbling but when I ate, I couldn’t eat much just a few pieces. Tried to drink as much water as possible.

I feel unusually tired and sluggish today despite going to bed early though I was tired from the weekend and have been busy at work so that might also be part on it on top of adjusting to a new medication. I can’t face a workout which is making me annoyed as I want to continue exercising whilst on this, I agree with you it’s not a miracle cure but hoping it will help.

I went to the toilet as normal and I am praying I don’t have those side effects. I am carrying rehydration salts, anti diarrhoea and anti sickness tablets just in case.

Fingers crossed.

Hi @RedRum27 I think the toilet will be the opposite of what you are preparing for, but we are all different! I only poo about every 10 days or so but my diet is terrible on this don't eat most days and not enough water. Been in 7mg now for a few days I think I am feeling less hungry, it's hard to tell. No side effects so far so will continue on my merry journey.

@Doggymummar it seems like it at the minute. I haven’t been today although a bit gassy and I feel like I want to go but not desperately if you know what I mean. The fatigue has got me. It’s night time where I am and I went to sleep almost straight from work and just woken up but feel tired enough to go back to bed. i cancelled dinner plans as well due to the tiredness.

I emailed my doctor and he said feedback shows that increased tiredness is common, some high sugar or carbs can do this. I don’t feel hungry interestingly now but today I have had a banana, pasta & chicken for lunch and a granola bar. Tried to more drink water but probably could have drank more, the tiredness got in the way.

interesting experience as I’ve never done something like this. But for the money paid I want to at least see out the tablets I’ve bought 😂

Yes the tiredness is real. I was unemployed when I started in March and I was napping every afternoon for a few hours. It was only the first month if I remember correctly. I was working from 1st May and it was definitely gone by then.

@RedRum27 I think @JaffacakeJanine‘s summary of side effects is great.
I think I’ve done ok so far really. Was definitely tired when I first started looking back. I thought at the time I was just enjoying being able to grab an early night as our eldest left for uni around that time.
I am feeling quite sicky at the moment. Especially first thing. Not sure if it’s the build up of the drug or because I had a sickness bug last week. I find that eating a very small breakfast helps. I’m still trying to eat my usual foods, but portions are so much less. I vomit if i over eat. I’m not snacking at all - which is miraculous! I was in training today and there were sweets and biscuits being passed around and I didn’t fancy anything.
toilet wise - things are definitely slower! But that’s something I can suffer with anyway. magnesium and dulcoease are helping.

I’ve got one day of 7mg left and then some 14mg. I don’t fancy any more nausea, so have bought a pill cutter and will try halving them I think! Rightangled have sent a discount thing, but seem to be out of stock of the 14mg.

I hope everyone else is doing ok?

@Dinosaurpoo oooo didn't think about a pill cutter, I'm hacking at mine with a knife 😆😆

@RedRum27 hold steady, the tiredness goes after a month or so! Just your body adjusting for sure.

I was chatting to DP the other day and interestingly when he feels hunger, he feels nauseous, much in the same way I get hunger cues in the morning now. I always wondered why he got so irritable when hungry and now I'm starting to understand it!

Before Rybelsus I would feel hunger pangs around meal times, but easier to ignore them / I didn't feel ill, just weak. Then as a result, later I'd get absolutely starving and eat way more than I needed! Without strong hunger cues I'd also snack mindlessly into the evening as I wasn't able to tell if I was full or not. It's all so very interesting how different our bodies are.
Is this similar for everybody else?
