Mounjaro wow!

i had my first starting dose of Mounjaro today. I’ve been on Wegovy since Dec last year but I’m super impressed by how I feel on this starting dose of Mounjaro. I feel that I’ve not had much appetite suppression recently on Wegovy but really excited that Mounjaro feels like it’s working even on this low dose ( something I didn’t feel so aware of in Wegovy!)

I've ordered Mounjaro yesterday on Med Express and I didn't need to input my GP medications. But when I tried last week it wouldn't allow me the medication because I'm on fluoxetine. I've googled and it says it's perfectly safe whilst using fluoxetine so what's going on?

How come it's the same website but different criteria required on a different day?

If I've paid for it and the GP says I'm not allowed it will I get a refund?

I joined Slimming World last My and managed to lose nearly 2 stone but since end Dec 2024 have put on 8lbs. Last week i lost 3.5lbs but have put on 2lbs this week so I'm pretty desperate to shift this weight and hope the injections will help along with my continued efforts at SW.

They don't ask your GPs permission, they will simply notify them so any prescription they give you is recorded on your medical record.

On the MedExpress online consultation form it asks you "Are you currently taking any medication (including over the counter, prescription or recreational drugs)?" To which you would answer yes. When you click Yes, it then asks if you're taking any from a specific list, which doesn't include the medication you're on. So you'd say "no" you're not taking any from that list and then the consultation form would continue.

Was that not what you filled out?

That was for @HangryBrickShark

I think that their team of pharmacists will look at your application and if it’s safe they’ll approve it. Because my weight isn’t in the obese range ( I have a bit to go to reach my target) they wanted to review my prescription. It was on hold for a pharmacist to review and ultimately they released it. I’m sure if you’ve been prescribed it previously on the same medication you will be grand- it’s just a safe guarding formality & they’ll check it and release it to you

I'm on fluoxetine and have not had any problem ordering it from Med express, Voy and Simple online pharmacy. Is there anything else on the consultation could have caused a problem?

No. Cocodamol, ibuprofen and gabapentin. It only highlighted fluoxetine as being a problem, that was last week. But on that online form it asked for all my meds, this form I've completed and paid on only asked was I on any of a list of meds. Irs strange. Fingers crossed. I really need this. Thanks x

Never been prescribed it before. I do hope it goes through.

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes that form you mention I filled in (can't remember if you had to tick no or tick yes if you were on one from the list) but the form last week asked me for every med I was on which is weird. I obviously gave up on that form as it came up with something like "you can't be prescribed Mounjaro because you are taking fluoxetine" or words to that effect.

I want this so much, I am eating healthier and working out at the gym but just don't seem to be able to shift the weight consistently so this will be the head start I need. Thanks. Will let you know outcome and sorry OP for hijacking your post. 😉
