Mounjaro wow!

i had my first starting dose of Mounjaro today. I’ve been on Wegovy since Dec last year but I’m super impressed by how I feel on this starting dose of Mounjaro. I feel that I’ve not had much appetite suppression recently on Wegovy but really excited that Mounjaro feels like it’s working even on this low dose ( something I didn’t feel so aware of in Wegovy!)

Interesting! What made you switch from one to the other?

I was thinking of swapping can you just go from the high dose of Wegovy to mounjaro ?

I have been at a plateau at my current weight since May and despite being on the highest dose I just wasn’t getting much appetite suppression. I think Mounjaro performs better in terms of weight loss and it’s cheaper at the higher doses than Wegovy.

Yeah, Boots we’re happy for me only to leave a week between doses so that’s what I’ve done

I doubt that. You have to wait at least 5 weeks.

Its true - i start Mounjaro tomorrow after leaving Wegovy last week with Boots Pharmacy.

Im so glad you've noticed a difference. I havent felt a single difference on Wegovy for the last 8 weeks! So I move to Mounjaro tomorrow morning x

@Daisy2464 then I would imagine that boots need to be reported to GCPH as you cannot start mounjaro until 5 weeks after you've finished wegovy.

Its not only Boots - Lloyds and Superdrug are the same.
Perhaps once you reach a certain dose its ok to change - i'm not sure.
However, its my decision and dont feel the need to 'report' anyone..

Yes it states online when you google but my sisters Superdrug consultation said 1 week as did LLoyds when I considered them as a provider. Its to cover side effects. If you have zero I dont see a problem.

@Daisy2464 it goes against the manufacturers guidelines? This is serious medication, I'm surprised people are happy to mess around with it.

I had to have a month in-between semaglutide and Mounjaro. I also had to start on the 2,5mg dose when I was on the highest dose for 18 months of Ozempic. I have no suppression and have gained 4lb this month. 5mg jab should arrive Monday so planning on using that adjacent to the last two doses of 2.5mg

That's why we've gone to reputable providers with doctor consultations rather than some random online company. Going by the sound of it you aren't taking it or aren't changing medication - so nothing for you to worry about :) Have a nice day.

Feel like I wasted money on Wegovy with zero changes.

Wegovy was ok to start with but since being on the highest dose I have lost nothing . Hoping mounjaro will kick start me again . I may speak to my current provider and see what they say don’t really want to come off it all for a Month also mounjaro is cheaper

This was me, I just couldn’t lose on the highest dose but had hoped it was just a temporary plateau. After several months of no loss, I decided to switch. I definitely feel my appetite suppressed on this low dose of Mounjaro so I’m exited to see what happens! Good luck!

Genuinely they were happy for me to switch within those timescales. I don’t feel any negative side effects so far apart from loss of appetite & I’ll happily take that!!!
