Just wondering what little thing you’re looking forward to about losing weight? Mine- t-shirts! I’d love to just whack a normal tshirt on and not worry about lumps or it riding up, or the boob shelf from the high neck. Similarly, I think this will be the first year ever I’ll get a Christmas jumper. They’ve never looked any good on me, but this year I’m getting one!
what are you looking forward to? Or if you’ve lost the weight, what is your little positive thing?

Just losing anything would be good! I’ve lost a kilo in 3 months on it. It’s going to be Christmas 2030 by the time I can be happy in a Christmas jumper!!

Mummytodo · 26/09/2024 15:29

I'm half way through to my goal lost 3 stone 7 since April and could do with losing that again. I am just loving going through my old clothes ATM which I kept but didn't fit in April now they are starting to fit again. I had a pair of jeans I could bot get past my hips in April and now fit :)

PermanentTemporary · 26/09/2024 15:29

Moving around more easily.
Reduced joint aches.
Feeling sexier with my partner (not that he ever shows anything other than enthusiasm but I want to regain more confidence).
Virtuous circle of feeling more able to exercise.

artictern · 26/09/2024 15:34

Definitely yes to non-lumpy t-shirts! I’m an 🍎.

Wearing whatever I think looks cool because clothes always look better on slim people and I have to adjust my style to look flattering vs what I really like.

Fitting into my ‘someday’ drawer of clothes that I bought as thinspiration but never fit into 🥹

I’m down to a 14 now and clothes are already a lot better but still a way to go 💪

MounjaroHereICome · 26/09/2024 15:37

Going back to my normal weight and maintaining it. Feels good to lose and hopefully will see consistency in loss as I'm being consistent in my healthier lifestyle for the first time in a long time, thanks to the Mounjaro aid.

Foot pain going (plantar fasciitis in one foot at the moment & both feet are sore if I am on them too long - definitely related to weight to some extent) - which will lead to being able to go on long walks and joining exercise classes.

Re-join reformer Pilates classes again - don't like doing it when overweight - fat gets in the way!

Enjoying clothes more - shopping my wardrobe to start with, plenty in there I'm looking forward to getting back into.

I've currently lost enough to justify joining a health club again. Induction at the gym tomorrow! I'm also enjoying the clothes I was wearing just fitting and hanging much better, even if I haven't fully lost a dress size yet (well, maybe I have - was almost certainly wearing a size too small to start with).

SilenceInside · 26/09/2024 16:48

Also keen to go back to Pilates, been an age since I've done it and would like to try it when at a healthy weight. Last time I went to classes I was still overweight and gaining, so eventually stopped because I felt too uncomfortable.

Wearing some of my clothes that I haven't wore for ages, or ones that I was far too optimistic that I would fit in them but couldn't bring myself to return them.

I'd also like to start doing some more energetic exercise, maybe climbing or some kind of gymnastics/tumbling/trampolining or anything in that area.

Lots more too, but that would be a good start!

What's going on with that, @Alicana? Are you getting suppression and do you feel full?

MounjaroUser · 26/09/2024 17:09

I'm four months in and have lost 2.5 stone. It's been very slow at times - there have been a number of weeks with no weight loss at all. What's been different for me is that usually I would have given up well before now on a normal diet. I'd have been really bored with it - and resentful too at not losing any for a while - and would have wanted to treat myself to food and drink. Now I can just think, "Oh well, it'll drop off soon" and I can continue with it. It's been life-changing for me.

MounjaroUser · 26/09/2024 17:09

I want to wear dresses - that's my goal!

TurtleNest · 26/09/2024 17:11

Being taken seriously by the doctor when I go with a medical issue, and not just being fobbed off that the problem is due to my weight.

Reducing my invisibility, so people may actually notice I'm there and listen to what I'm saying, rather than just blanking me out.

Feeling happier in my own skin, being able to occasionally admire myself in the mirror and actually feeling like the beautiful person my lovely DH tells me I am - instead of just a big (pun intended) fraud!

LionAndEmperor13 · 26/09/2024 17:58

2.5 stone gone in 3 months so it's a noticeable difference.
I'm enjoying getting my old clothes out of storage, most of them fit now.
I'm also looking forward to clothes shopping for the first time in years!
Also something that really hit hard, last year I cancelled on a school reunion type thing, as I hadn't seen most people for a good few years. I was very slim then and couldn't bear the thought of them seeing the 'fat' version of me 🙁
Now though, I'd definitely have gone along!

ShiftAMountain · 26/09/2024 18:14

Not having that nagging sensation that diabetes must be catching up on me.

Not being exhausted before starting a dog walk, because bending down to put on my boots is such hard work.

Welcoming spring and the shedding of baggy big jumpers because I am confident in summery clothes - instead of past spring when I clearly wore jumpers longer than the weather required, just to stay covered up.

Not having a slight bruise down my right hand thigh where it overspills the car seat and gets sore from hanging over the 'ridge' of the seat.

HiveMindEchoChamber · 26/09/2024 19:29

Emotional:
Feeling more confident in my body and movement.
Feeling like the inside me matches the outside.
Being happy in photos not worrying that I look awful

Physical:
Being able to have more energy to run and play with DC.
Not being on a constant failing 'diet'
Less joint pain and pressure on veins
A healthy next pregnancy

Visual:
Not worrying about back fat rolls
Being able to wear slinky outfits again - I'm a big fan of wide leg trousers and very slim fitted tees but dislike my back rolls
My face looking sharp again - lost half a stone so far and my cheekbones are coming back

GlueNoGlue · 26/09/2024 19:30

@HiveMindEchoChamber im 5 stone down and my clavicles have come back. Haven’t seen them in years but I love them!

Going into a shop and being able to buy nice clothes in my size of the rail.
Wearing summer dresses next year, maybe a nice dress for Christmas Day this year too.
Flying somewhere and not worrying about if the seatbelt will go around me.
I want to do a zip wire near me, would never do it before as I know they weigh you first.
Go swimming and not feel so embarrassed.
Enjoy going to the beach. I'm hoping I'll cope better with hot weather when slimmer.
So many things.

Which injection/treatment are you on? That's a fab loss. I'm a bit scared of these injections and weight loss pills tbh. Might just go for it

Mummytodo · 26/09/2024 19:59

@Foundanotherwrinkle I'm an idiot as I didn't realise this was an injection thread for weight loss sorry. However I am just calorie counting I also increased my exercise gradually starting at around 20 mins walking then 30 now do an hour daily. I have purchased a walking pad to help me do this as I have a Sen child and cannot get out often.

Sometimes I don't lose anything and then the next week 1 or 2lbs it feels slow but I feel like I have no alternative but to continue as I'm still very heavy but I did start at 19st 2lb x

Bournetilly · 26/09/2024 20:25

Being able to go to a theme park/ on water slides without worrying.
Not needing a seatbelt extender on the plane.
Not worrying about if I will fit in chairs/ break them.
Not being out of breath all the time.
Getting photos with my children.
Not thinking people are judging me everywhere I go.
Being able to get nice clothes rather than whatever fits.

LastTimeLosingIt · 26/09/2024 20:37

So many things.

I made a list on my phone of all the reasons why I want to lose weight. It has 41 things on it!

RobinEllacotStrike · 26/09/2024 20:51

I would love to buy a pair of Levi's 501's and look fab in them.

I want to take some horse riding lessons but need to lose 25 more kilos for that.

ItsAlrightDarling · 26/09/2024 20:56

4 months in and 3 stone down. 5lbs to go until my goal weight! I’m just looking forward to wearing clothes I actually like, rather than ones I just buy because they vaguely fit.

Really this injection has really proved to me that weight loss is extremely difficult for me.

I've been using for 13 months and I've lost 3 stone. I've had very limited appetite and as a result eaten very little. Little at each meal and only 2 small small meals a day. Absolutely no desire to eat. Yet it's taken this long.

People always think that people who say they can't lose weight on 1000 calories are deluded about how much they really eat. Clearly they are wrong.

I'm happy with my current weight but it's been SLOW and obviously expensive going for this long

CityofRojas · 26/09/2024 21:17

I love that I fit on the swings at the kids park now 😂

PrincessPeache · 26/09/2024 21:21

I’m half way through a (hopefully) 130lb weight loss and the improvement in my sex life is the highlight 😂 so I can’t wait to see what the next 65lbs brings!
