Just wondering what little thing you’re looking forward to about losing weight? Mine- t-shirts! I’d love to just whack a normal tshirt on and not worry about lumps or it riding up, or the boob shelf from the high neck. Similarly, I think this will be the first year ever I’ll get a Christmas jumper. They’ve never looked any good on me, but this year I’m getting one!
what are you looking forward to? Or if you’ve lost the weight, what is your little positive thing?

@Mummytodo its not just for people on weight loss injections (although I am 😁), just for people who are losing weight and what they’re looking forward to :)

I've lost a stone, so far no one has noticed but I feel less bloated, ideally I'd like to lose a further two stone, then I won't feel self conscious about my upper arms in the summer and to wear sleeveless tops and to wear jeans again without the need for stretchy waist bands. Also I've had health issues due to being overweight so I have that motivation too, to feel healthier overall.

doodleschnoodle · 26/09/2024 21:27

Wearing jeans! I've not felt comfortable wearing jeans for ages. I'd like to wear some tight-fitting clothes again!

@GlueNoGlue thanks I felt abit daft cus it wouldn't be the first time I've commented on a post that's for injectables. I was thinking of trying injectables if weight loss stalls but it hasn't so far just steady

To be fair, the topic you posted in is literally called Weight loss injections/treatments. It's useful to stick to the topic so people can find what they're looking for or ignore as the wish.

Standing up.

I'd like to just stand up and not hurt or wince or need to lean hard on the arm of a chair because I'm not sure I can do it without knees giving way.

Walking downstairs without pain.

Being able to buy clothes from real shops, not a limited range.

sylv165 · 27/09/2024 08:54

To not being the fat friend every time I go out. To being able to wear fashionable clothes without feeling like a potato. To having the confidence to take my kids swimming without feeling like a whale in the pool. And to get some self-confidence back so I stop using awful words like fat friend/potato/whale to describe myself!!!

So I always used to be slim and only gained weight in last couple of years. I can’t wait to wear my old clothes and outfits and just look like myself again.

Also TMI but the shape of my breasts has changed - they’re not necessarily bigger but just less firm and a bit asymmetrical. I’m hoping the weight loss helps them look normal again but if not, I’d consider surgery once I’ve lost the weight.

Enjoying the look on my MIL face when she insists at Christmas present opening (as she always does), that I try on the clothing she has gifted me (always 3 sizes too small regardless of her asking my size for the last 20 year)……

At least this year her condescending “oh I’m sure you’ll slim into them” will be replaced by a forced smile and silence, as I slink away after said ordeal unscathed (on this occasion) all slim and happy with a pork pie in my hand 💪

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 28/09/2024 12:34

Loving all of these!

I've said this on here before but I can't wait to buy something in Zara!! 😂

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 28/09/2024 12:54

A new hip.
Hopefully next year.
Lost two stone in 11 weeks on mounjaro.

GlueNoGlue · 28/09/2024 20:40

@Waspwine amazing! I’ve got everything crossed for you!

I look forward to eliminating the invisible stress of worrying about my weight. I'd love to try canoeing, but I think, "What if I am too large?". There are so many hobbies I would like to try!

The other is not wearing the same three outfits on rotation. I am currently a size 24-26.

My first Mounjaro is tomorrow!

eeeeeeeee · 28/09/2024 23:19

Another thing I thought of - just having more freedom with outfits. I have realised that over the past year, I always dress to hide my weight gain. And that’s absolutely everywhere - whether that’s baggy clothes to bed, wearing jackets in summer, sweatshirts to gym, blazers by default for every work outfit…

Wearing absolutely nothing that would show my arms or the outline of my stomach, using shape wear. I’m in my 20s - I don’t want to live like this anymore!

Can’t wait to just simply wear a dress confidently again and not want to cover up!

Snoozysu · 29/09/2024 08:50

To enjoy looking at photographs of myself, to not feeling out of breath whilst walking up a hill, ( need to start a walking regime)
To be able to fasten up shoes a bit more easily ( usually go for slip on styles recently)

Smallsalt · 29/09/2024 09:06

Not avoiding mirrors.

happygertie · 29/09/2024 09:37

I have a holiday planned for next summer and we are flying with a budget airline. I want to be comfortable in my seat for the plane journey and feel comfortable getting up and gong to the loo. I normally just so uncomfy that I darent move for the whole flight.

Orangesandlemons77 · 07/10/2024 13:02

Being able to wear a bra comfortably- not as now packing them into a sports bra with 'overfill'

😂😂 honestly the times I’ve sat there turning purple in a too tight jumper 🙄🙄

TheChosenTwo · 08/10/2024 08:03

Just reading through this as I contemplate pulling the trigger on the website to order this. I’m going on holiday next week and I think it will be the first thing I do when I get home.
i want to not feel self conscious when I sit down and immediately pull a cushion onto my lap!

Oh this, so much 😭
The cushion on lap to hide away from the world, it's so sad that we do this!!
I'm now in a place where I'd confidently wear a bikini (!!) on holiday again.
For the first time in maybe 20 years!
This has been and absolute life changer for me.
I'm determined to not put the weight back on when I stop, as I know how I feel now, and nothing will stop me from feeling this great about myself again.
I've lost 3 stone and regained my life, my looks, my confidence, everything.
I move differently, I catch sight of myself in a mirror and smile, rather than being horrified.
