It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?
Tori

Thanks. I’ll take it in the morning instead. Hopefully I won’t have any side effects for work Monday!

Wishthiswasntmypost · 03/08/2024 20:01

Busy day. No breakfast. Lunch was protein yoghurt and fruit. Dinner was two rice cakes and a carrot and hummus. Snack of a 35 cal biscuit x 2. Poor diet in terms of quality but not many cals - just too busy for food

I think a lot of us felt quite tired on day two so possibly an early night.
Eat small and regular, eat less than you think as you may then feel quite full. Avoid fatty foods.
Good luck!

Have been weighing daily (and as the Fitbit scales sync to my phone nice tracking) and todays win is weight now starts 15 not 16.... 9lbs down after 2.5 weeks. Final jab from first pen is on Weds. my first goal is now just under a stone away as I've not had a weigh in staring 14 since March 2019 (blessing and curse of the Fitbit scales that it has years worth of my weight info to compare myself to)

Going on holiday next weekend and hoping to be down another couple of lbs. Am away two weeks so taking my next pen with me to start but am going to stick at 2.5 to not risk extra side effects when I'm away Grin

ToriMJ · 04/08/2024 08:39

That's great, nothing sweeter than moving down a stone bracket, you must be very pleased!

I've dropped two I points in under three weeks which blows my mind

Had a more cal day yesterday. Not loads but about 1500 and I've not lost. I'm a bit constipated again tho so may be to take a senakot again tonight if no joy today.

Inj 4 tomz.

Tori. That's amazing!!!

I'm losing steadily and clothes already feeling looser. Enjoying reading what everyone else is eating as well!

SW: 84kg
CW: 78kg
GW: 60kg

Yesterday I managed to drink 2L of water over the day so I was really pleased with that. Under no illusion that most of the weight I appeared to "lose" in the first week was probably water!

Breakfast of Scrambled eggs & 1 Tbsp salsa with a cup of tea

Lunch was a black iced coffee and toasted Chicken focaccia at Starbucks and couldn't finish it so just ate all the chicken out of the middle

Dinner I grilled thin pork chops with honey and garlic, alongside wedges of nectarine, and ate with rocket and burrata. I couldn't finish my portion!!

Still learning how much smaller my usual home cooking portions need to be. I only gave myself one chop but it was the size of my whole hand and not just my palm as the "official" serving size for meat. I used to think those serving sizes were ridiculously tiny and unrealistic for real people, but now...they seem pretty spot on for how I'm managing to eat at the moment.

ChaChaChooey · 04/08/2024 10:50

I was thinking exactly that about portion sizes just yesterday, Xiaoxiong!

Maybe the bag of dried pasta really is 8 servings 🤣

So happy to see everyone moving downwards. My first week hasn't been great, down a pound but had hoped for better. Fingers crossed things will start moving this week. I'm away in 2 wks & will be bringing the meds with me.

gimmemounjaro · 04/08/2024 12:36

Here's a question for you knowledgable folk - I am away on holiday, have my pen with me and due to take dose 4 of week 1 tomorrow.

I would like to add a bit of the extra this week and take 3.75mg as preparation for going up to 5mg next time. I don't have a spare needle though.

I was going to try doing 1.5x the number of clicks (so 90 clicks for my pen) but saw a post where someone did that and then couldn't push the plunger down. I don't want to risk that as I have no more pens and no way of getting them whilst on hols. So - would it be a good idea to inject the 2.5mg dose as normal and then try injecting a half dose straight after? This would mean using the same needle twice (but in the space of 2 mins). All advice welcome...

gimmemounjaro · 04/08/2024 12:44

Also - I have had an email from MedExpress about reordering and it says next day delivery. Is there any wait / assessment etc before they send out pens for week 2? Or would it be likely to come the day after I order? Just trying to time it for when we get home from hols. I would be increasing dose from 2.5 to 5mg. Thanks all

It says in the instructions that if you inject and then you haven't given it all you can put it back in, so I'm guessing that would be ok

Are you tracking what you eat? It's all about the calorie deficit, which for some won't come easily until they've moved up to the higher doses and is totally normal. How have you felt this week? Did you feel like it worked or not so much?

OP posts:
Xiaoxiong · 04/08/2024 13:54

@Mummacake agree with @ToriMJ that you still need to track your food or "diet" while on these jabs to lose the weight.

I think of the jab as the liquid willpower to stick to a healthier diet and stay in a calorie deficit like I've never previously been able to do, while I retrain myself in a new way of eating with far smaller portion sizes than I've been used to.

gimmemounjaro · 04/08/2024 14:06

Thank you @ToriMJ I hadn't seen that - it's a plan!

Hi @ToriMJ I have had much reduced appetite and have monitored my food intake & portion sizes - both much smaller than before. I'm hoping it'll all kick in during the coming week.

That's what I'm
Going to do when I want to go up to 5, do a 3.75 middle dose to edge me upwards in case I feel iffy on 5

Stick with it mummacake. We aren't really supposed to lose on 2.5 it's just the intro dose.
I'm Losing lots but my appetite suppression is taking me to 800-900 cals a day which is a big deficit for a fat bird, I don't think it's luck that I'm feeling such an impact on 2.5

day 2 - 24 hours in

not felt hungry at all but also keep forgetting to drink water. Getting a headache so need to keep on top of water intake

just had my first meal of the day - tracked it in my fitness pal

  • 4 x eggs - scrambled in a bit of butter
  • feta
  • turkey rashers

having family over for a BBQ later and I’ll be having Chicken and salad - no buns or bread

hoping to still get out for a walk or swim later

That should say that I think it's luck that I'm feeling such an impact on the beginner dose
