Are there click counting charts for Mounjaro?

I’ve taken a break and am switching from Wegovy to Mounjaro. Hoping that can break and change of meds will ease the side effects that made me give up. I was counting clicks to get more out of Wegovy pens, but I can’t find click charts for Mounjaro.

The pharmacies are never going to suggest that anyone should count clicks as it's not how the pens are supposed to be used.

However, it is absolutely correct that if you reduce the volume of liquid you're injecting then you reduce the dose of medication that you receive. There's no "potency" issue with doing this.

@Pyjamatimenow your symptoms likely reduced on your second 12.5mg because the levels of Mounjaro in your system had fallen to levels that didn't produce the side effects.

@SilenceInside is absolutely right. Dropping back to previous 12.5mg levels of concentration will take a couple of weeks to level off. Much more likely this was the issue than click counting not giving a smaller dose.

Providers will not discuss off license practices because they concerned about the risk to their business, not the needs of the patient, with the added bonus for them they get to sell you another pen.

Though, it is absolutely up to you to do what you feel comfortable with.

i Used Wegovy from Jan to July last year with fab effect- lost 3st 7lb and one thing and another stopped. Wish I’d kept going to get last 2 stone off to reach healthy BMI…

anyway fast forward
New supplier in autumn and they recommended mounjaro so I started mid November.

I was really concerned but started at lowest dose and took 5th dose of 2.5mg & 5mg pens.

surprised effects are absolutely minimal, on 7.5mg now and weight slowly slowly starting to come off. But nothing like appetite suppression or nausea with Wegovy.

The side effects of Wegovy were awful for me. I felt ill and the only foods I wanted were salty carbs. Mounjaro has been much better for me. Minimal side effects for the first few weeks that have completely gone now. Weight loss has been slow but steady, but was like this on Wegovy too. I’ve never gone above 6.5mg because I don’t feel I need to. The suppression is just right for me as I can eat normally but within a calorie deficit. Could it be your loss is slower because you now have less to lose?

yeah I’ve found side effects minimal too and exactly as you say being able to eat with controlled calories is a winner as well as feeling hungry. I wish I’d started with this and not Wegovy as that nausea and constipation hit different.

I think you’re right in on the final furlong so it’ll slow but tbh I’m still technically overweight….

howvever, slow and steady and I don’t want to look haggard so I’m happy to keep going. 7.5mg seems to be sweet spot, I don’t want entire suppression of my appetite.

new pen 2.5 hadn't a clue. was very sick on the last craz pen and was scared to try this but my weight is getting to me. I turned the pen 5 clicks.... 3 days later did 10 clicks... 3 days late which is today did 10 clicks.... I was so frightened to get sick.... I didn't realise you had to go straight to 2.5 it seemed scary.... so when should I take 2.5 and start as I mean to go on.... does 2.5 really make you less hungry? Will I feel very sick I was dying last time thanks

Or count the clicks as a proportion of 60.

If a 5Mg pen of Mounjaro has 60 clicks and you use 45 to go a bit upper than 2,5mg but not 5mg does that mean that you then only have 15 clicks left how do you use the rest ? So how many doses of 45click do you have per injection?

Each full dose injection on any pen is 60 clicks. If using a 5mg pen, and you do 45 clicks that will be a dose of 3.75mg. There are 4 doses in each pen, so 4 x 60 clicks is 240 clicks in total. If you do 4 lots of 45 clicks, that's only 180 clicks in total. You would have 60 more clicks available in the pen, so you could do a 5th injection of 45 clicks, leaving 15 left over. Or you could do a 5th injection of the full 60 clicks for the full 5mg dose.

Does it? Then it's not a Mounjaro Kwikpen. Are you talking about Wegovy?

I have no idea, as what you are describing isn't what a Mounjaro Kwikpen looks like or how it works. Maybe if you answered some of the questions then people could help you.

It is mounjaro pen it's not a kick pen..it starts with 0 then 1mg 2mg 3mg 4mg 5mg...I clicked it 30 times so it goes it's in between 2mg and 3mg so that's 2.5mg

Maybe you could post a picture of what you've got? Mounjaro pens are not labelled with 1mg, 2mg, 3mg etc. only lines, and a 0 and a 1.

@ThatPeachPoster please do not inject what you have unless you have it confirmed it is from a legitimate source. What you are describing is not a legit pen, you have no idea what is in it, and you are risking serious harm to yourself.

Are you using a pen prescribed in the USA or another country other than the UK, @ThatPeachPoster? The American pens look like the picture attached.

As Mumsnet is a predominantly UK-based site, most people here are using the Mounjaro Kwikpens (not pictured).

This might be causing the confusion.
