Mounjaro without a photo?!

Nopicturesallowed · 18/06/2024 12:07

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get Mounjaro without having to submit a photo or Shock Horror a video of themselves?
I've tried a couple of sites that don't mention the need for a photo until after payment has been taken. Luckily I've been able to cancel. I really don't feel comfortable with having my photo taken, but taking a photo and uploading it to an online site for people to stare at makes me feel ill!
I've done a search but it just brings up a list of sites selling it and not all sites pre warn you!
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I didn't need a photo for Boots online doctor

usernother · 18/06/2024 12:56

I needed a photo for Asda online and I was glad I did. I think it shows they are trying not to prescribe to people who don't need it. The photo I took had my face hidden, I cut it off above the neck.

unsync · 18/06/2024 13:05

I stuck a smiley face over my face. I very much doubt they sit there pointing and laughing. Your photograph is to prove that you meet the criteria for being prescribed the medication. A doctor reviewed my information and then emailed me to confirm that I met the criteria.

This is part of the process, it is a POM, they need to make sure you should have it. If it is not prescribed appropriately, there can be serious consequences, not least of which might be that on-line prescribing could be stopped. Then those of us that follow the rules would be penalised.

If you don't want to submit a photo, you need to see a private doctor and have a face to face consultation. I think the Mayfair Clinic in London provides in-person consultations.

My provider asked for a selfie that showed full body but I just cropped a recent photo. I agree with others that it is good that they take the requirements seriously and would be concerned at any provider that supplied licensed medication without complying with protocols

Sassy306 · 18/06/2024 13:27

I used Zava, they asked for a photo but you could do it from the shoulders down :)

loudbatperson · 18/06/2024 13:30

I would be wary of any remote prescriber who will prescribe without a photo or video. It's a red flag for a lax approach to proper prescribing procedure, which makes we wonder what other guidelines they would play fast and loose with. The same as I avoided a company specifically because they don't follow the requirements on informing the patients GP, even though they were cheaper.

I totally get your discomfort but the images will be got rid of after. I am sure of you send a message they will confirm their retention policy to you and reassure you of how the image is stored, accessed and removed.

On a similar note, does anyone know any providers these days where you can still opt out of them informing your GP?

I ended up going to Simple Online Healthcare. No photo required and I clicked to say I would inform the GP myself. They did not ask for GP details either.
I ordered late yesterday and I've had notification to say its been delivered already.

I completely understand not wanting a photo. But you might actually be glad of it as it helps you see your progress as you lose. You could always take a quick pic but not look at it til you want to see how far you've come.

Justice88 · 24/07/2024 08:54

@unsync wrll thats totally untrue theres plenty of legitimate places you can order without a pic

Hi, Initially I went to Simply Online pharmacy as they were not requesting a photo. When I went to reorder they did request one. I have since ordered from Cloud who ask for a photo but there is a note underneath saying a photo is optional. I ordered without adding a photo and received my order the next day.

Oh that’s great - thank you. I was using Pharmacy2U who now require a photo AND had sent me an out of date batch of Mounjaro do I would be more than happy to find another provider. Their customer service is impossible too!!

Justice88 · 06/08/2024 20:57

I have a bmi of 27 and don't fulfil the additional criteria & not gonna lie, if I could could afford it and could get away with it, I'd order some!

EsteeLouder · 06/08/2024 21:24

Simple Online pharmacy are now asking for a real time selfie and for you to notify your Doctor.

ReginaTucker · 06/08/2024 23:03

The dates on some of the batches were extended so it probably wasn’t actually out of date. You should have got a note with it explaining that though!

tastytreatsnomore · 01/09/2024 13:02

Voy does not require GP to be informed. Voy do request full body photo.
