Mounjaro without a photo?!

Nopicturesallowed · 18/06/2024 12:07

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get Mounjaro without having to submit a photo or Shock Horror a video of themselves?
I've tried a couple of sites that don't mention the need for a photo until after payment has been taken. Luckily I've been able to cancel. I really don't feel comfortable with having my photo taken, but taking a photo and uploading it to an online site for people to stare at makes me feel ill!
I've done a search but it just brings up a list of sites selling it and not all sites pre warn you!
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Poor buggers at Medexpress…. I uploaded a bikini shot not realising you could be clothed! 🙈🙈🙈

Thank you just ordered and got the discount!

Awk, I have just followed this link but they’ve asked for photo verification. My BMI is over the threshold, but only slightly. Still have over 2 stone to lose, though

Please let me know I am on the same boat I wanna find a website that does not require a photo

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 08/12/2024 23:11

@Hamza0794 tbh, with regulations for online prescribers tightening up all the time, I think it’s highly unlikely any will take on new patients without photos now.

Hamza0794 · 08/12/2024 23:13

There must be a way … I mean people can get all sorts of stuff 😖😖
ah i wish someone could help me

Snozzlemaid · 08/12/2024 23:27

Well yes, you could buy it illegally but then who knows what you'll be getting.
Why don't you want to provide a photo?

As far as I'm aware Cloud don't require a photo.
They ask for one but it isn't a mandatory requirement.

Have you tried?

HippoPortlyMouse · 09/12/2024 09:52

@Hamza0794 I hate the photo thing as well. Would you be ok with a photo where your face was turned away, or you edited an emoji smiley face over yours? I haven't ordered from many places so I don't know how strict they all are but that might be an option to try?

I always order via cloud and so far I've not been prompted to upload a photo

On a similar note, does anyone know any providers these days where you can still opt out of them informing your GP?

That would be downright dangerous. It's important your GP knows all medication you are on.

morbidcuriosity · 09/12/2024 18:44

When I first ordered from asda back in August I had to do a photo, but they didn't need my face in it, just body shape and 1 standing on scales.. don't know if it's still the same now..

There's no reason to have your head in the photos at all, I never did with Superdrug or pharmacy2u

That's interesting, I wish pharmacies made that clear! In fact, I wish all the different suppliers listed what they needed before you get most or all of the way through the application form only to find that they want something you don't have or don't want to provide. (Not everyone has the required ID, or wants to provide a front view with face showing, or can do a pic on the scales or whatever).

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/12/2024 10:59

Many will want your face in the photo in order to prove the photo is you! It will need to tally with your id to ensure the person ordering is the person in the photo. If you don’t want to provide id/photos etc, your only option is to find a local pharmacy where you can go in, speak to the pharmacist and get a prescription (although they might ask for id too🤷‍♀️).

If you think about, it’s a prescription medication so the suppliers NEED to have as many checks in place as they can. Anyone not wanting to provide pictures/proof of weight/id etc must automatically come across as bit worrying! Things are only going to get more stringent over the next few months too.

CoverMeInMarmalade · 10/12/2024 11:20

As others have said, the rules on these drugs are being tightened all the time - presumably in response to so many people trying to get round the guidelines that are in place - and so, even if you find a pharmacy now that will supply without a full, face included photo and ID, they are unlikely to do so for very long.

Even in the 3 months I've been on MJ, I've seen two new sets of rules introduced to try and tighten up who gets these drugs to only those clinically covered by the licence.

I would strongly recommend finding ways of proving a photo that you can live with rather than trying not to provide one at all - because even if you get the first pen, there will come a day very soon where you won't get the next one without it.

Ditto GP letters.

This is a longer term medication and so it is worth setting up practices that will see you right for the duration.

HippoPortlyMouse · 10/12/2024 11:22

@IReallyNeedThisToWork yes I totally understand! And on one hand, I'm all for stringent checks to make sure the medication is ony going to those people who should have it. In an ideal world we'd be getting this in person, on the NHS and from a supportive GP, alongside all the lifestyle advice we need.

On the other hand... I hate photos of me, and photos of me where I'm gurning at the camera dressed in tight shorts and a tank top fill me with dread. I don't want that on my camera roll, let alone sent off to some random across the internet*!

Thankfully for my last pic the pharmacy didn't need my face in it, just my body. I do have ID and scales. I've seen on a few threads people saying they didn't have one or the other, so it's not unheard of, and it would be useful for pharmacies to state at the start of a consultation form what documentation they'll need, to save hassle.

  • yes I know it's to a pharmacist who legitimately needs to check if I really am overweight and not lying, and they have to abide by GDPR, etc. I didn't say I was rational!
IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/12/2024 11:57

@HippoPortlyMouse I totally get where you are coming from and felt very much the same with my first pic. I am gutted now that I deleted it the second I sent it off as I would like to have it to compare to pics now, nearly 6 months later. I promise, the day will come when you can look at them and (despite the horror!) feel certain you will never be that person again!

@ReginaTucker youve probably found somewhere by now but Numan dont require a photo

They definitely do now!!!! Front and side and picture of an ID. And they charge an arm and a leg. So, that’s a big no from me

Medexpress made me send one with my face to check to the ID that I also had to send - I admit I feel slightly nervous of that photo floating around 😳.
