Casual wedding next summer, thoughts are hog roast for the main meal. What would you serve as a vegetarian option that fits the same vibe?

I'd appreciate any advice and experiences of this type of menu.

Or is it a really bad idea 😬

Another one who would be horrified by a hog roast (am vegetarian but agree that plenty of meat eaters would also not be keen- and it’s always annoying when veggie options run out because the meat eaters like the look of them more than the meat option!).

I agree and I eat meat, though not pork. It’s horrible to see a whole, dead animal. It will put vegans and vegetarians off to see that.

Do you mean because the cheese may not be vegetarian? Vegetarian pesto is available, if the cheese is correct.

Lots of places have pesto on 'vegetarian' options not knowing pesto/parmesan isnt vegetarian. If it said vegetarian pesto thats fair enough

Plant based.

It's a big thing that everybody is pretending they don't know about.

I wouldn’t be going to the wedding with a hog roast. It barbaric.

That's a bit of an over reaction. You don't have to eat it.

Plant based is vegan. Vegetarian includes some animal products such as dairy, eggs, honey.
