Hi, we are getting married in December just the two of us and hoping 2 people wouldn't mind being our witnesses? It's in London on a Monday.. x

I'm not local, but don't know if I would actually. Wouldn't anyone be concerned about facilitating a marriage the couple's friends and family don't support/aren't included in? Obviously there are numerous possible reasons for that, but to do it for someone without knowing any of the background seems uncomfortable to me.

I wish all the very best OP

No, it’s none of your business why they want to do this.
Some people have very valid reasons for not wanting family involved

Why are you ignoring all the posters asking where in London? It makes a huge difference as to whether someone can do it.

Camdenish · 01/11/2022 08:44

I’d love to but it would depend on time and place.

congratulations. Xx

She hasn't ignored she has said she'll send a message to people who've offered.

Igmum · 01/11/2022 08:50

I'm too far away but just to say this is lovely and could the OP and witnesses please report back afterwards?

Whichwhatnow · 01/11/2022 08:50

Awww! My mum and dad asked a pair of random strangers on a bus somewhere in the East End to be their witnesses. I'm a big fan of tiny/low key weddings! We only had our respective parents at ours. Congrats OP and I'm sure you'll find people who'd love to be a part of your day!

I was a witness for a MN wedding years ago. It was lovely. If I was closer I would do it again! Best of luck OP.

dancingmice · 01/11/2022 09:09

I'm in London and would be honoured to help, OP!

@shannith thank you so much, I don't know why I can't seem to find the dm option on the app I might look with fresh eyes tomorrow

Got it and have sent you a reply x

AquaticSewingMachine · 01/11/2022 11:20

Just tell us which register office..? You don't have to include the date, it won't be outing, and it will save us all a lot of trouble.

viques · 01/11/2022 11:24

Can you change the wedding to another day, I work on Mondays!

🙂🍾

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 01/11/2022 11:28
