Getting married in August next year and would be keen on chatting all this wedding to others getting married around the same time.

There is only so much wedding talk my fiancé can take

@Doidontimmm I seem to be getting things done in bursts 🤣 Dress (3rd one!) bought, flowers booked, chair sashes bought, hotels booked, cake maker booked....I could honestly do it in a fortnight at the rate I'm going . Im in my 50s and second marriage, but stupidly excited! How are the plans progressing with you?

I’m 50 too & I swear I organised everything within a couple of months of being engaged lol!! I could actually finish the organising now but holding myself back lol!! Got venue, dress, bridesmaid dress, place cards, cake topper! I’ve booked hair, flowers, make up, photographer, harpist & cake!!!

@Doidontimmm I'm holding myself back too! 🤣 Current obsession is table decorations, then will move onto bridesmaids' dresses 😍
Far bigger issues re childcare, my patents 🥴 transport etc but I'm burying my head in the sand about that for now 🤣 Oh and thinking about attending a few wedding fayres too 👰 Are you going to any?
Ps, I will be 52 on my wedding day so just a little older than you!

Parent issues not patents (I wish! 🤣).

No not going to any as don’t really need anything!! We are having just under 30 guests so no real issues, kids all grown up except a niece & grandchild who are coming. It’s been pretty plain sailing. DF family travelling 200 miles but have booked into a local hotel or staying with us and making a weekend of it.

I wasn’t having table decorations but keep seeing some lovely displays hence the place cards which the hotel do for free!! Oops!

Are you wearing an actual wedding dress, mine is ivory & from the bridal section at phase eight.

I've done exactly the same! Ordered in a size down (where I 'should' be, bloody menopause 🙄) and have around 10 pounds to go. Have lost a stone though with intermittent fasting since August, so know I'll get there . Will have to watch Christmas though!

I’m doing meal replacement shakes, I’ve lost 11lbs but keep going up & down and yes Christmas worries me as I will lose control! Peri Menopause has definitely kicked in too which isn’t helping. Hopefully won’t have to buy another dress lol!

I'm trying to be really 'good' between now and Christmas to give myself a 'buffer' so that I can stuff my face at Christmas 🤣 I'm full-on menopause and it's made such a difference to what I can get away with eating 🤣

I think we are the same person lol!!! It’s nice to chat to a similar bride to be!!

So excited. I've got the venue sorted, bought my dress from Lavelle Bridal Couture
and ordered my bridesmaid dresses from www.thandth.com
I've got 3 bridesmaids wearing green... .
Just need to sort band, florist and catering and I'm nearly there !

@Susiearcher4 it sounds like you're more than on track! I'm thinking ASOS for my bridesmaids but will check out your link too.
Next on the list for me are invites. We disagreed on sending out save the dates (I said we should, he not 🙄) so of course a few people have already booked hols for our wedding date 🤦‍♀️ So now its a matter of Extreme Importance that they get sent out before Christmas. Still seems early for an August wedding though. What are other people doing?

We only have 20 odd coming so did save the date by WhatsApp/Facebook event lol!! We just used a programme called canva and designed our own invites as only need around 10!

I’ve ordered the bridesmaid dress from JJs house but not arrived yet.
