Hello,

Apologies if this exists already, if so, please could I tag along?

Getting married in August next year and would be keen on chatting all this wedding to others getting married around the same time.

There is only so much wedding talk my fiancé can take

I tried some dresses on for the first time today and really surprised myself by that I liked. I thought I wanted floaty and lacy but ended up preferring something like this.

It's overly but doesn't really go with the boho/dried flower/rustic vibe of the rest of the event!

There are some beautiful dresses on this thread. I am really enjoying seeing what everyone else has picked.

We have more people on the list that can fit in the church so we are strategically waiting until after Christmas to send save the dates out! I have let the key people know already though.

Ours is also in august so I know it clashes with prime holiday time

@Doidontimmm that sounds a great way of sending out invites. You sound very organised with bridesmaids' dresses - how many do you have?

Wedding admin this week has included designing a bespoke cuff and earrings with an Etsy seller, and requesting samples for my veil (going to have a juliette cap veil) 😊

Joining please!! Spring 2022, eloping about three miles down the road. Have venue, celebrant, date, booked hairdresser today. Bought this dress, 95% sure it’s my wedding dress but also peri and need to remove some podge!

No children coming to mine, other my my own 6 and DF's 1 🤣 I'm also having my 18 year old daughter as one of my (3) bridesmaids @Doidontimmm, plus my 16 year old and best friend as MOH.
I'm getting my silk flowers from Etsy for the table centrepieces. From memory i'm spending around £15 per table (5 tables) and then a £40 for top table. About half the price of fresh and I love the fact that I can keep after and gift/display in the house.

Fab will look on Etsy, that’s where I’ve got most things so far.

My DF has a niece and 1 year old granddaughter so just having them.

Another bit of (enjoyable) wedding admin completed this week! I've decided on the design of my veil (Juliette cap) and have been chatting to the designer on Etsy who is adding colours from my dress to the lace section. It's the small things! 🤣

Next up I must send the template for the invites...oh and get back on with the weight loss...I seem to gave stalled 🥴.

Hello another peri menopausal bride-to-be here! I'm getting married for the second time in Oct next year (hopefully, haven't confirmed the venue yet)

I'll be 48 and never thought I'd get married again after 23 years with my exh but am now with the best man in the world who's never been married so we decided to do it!

It's gone from 'just a small casual thing' to a big 100-plus affair after we found a fab venue in an art gallery that does twilight weddings so we're scrapping the sit-down meal to save costs and just going straight from the marriage to the evening reception.

My 19 year old daughter is bridesmaid and my 16 yr old son will also walk down the aisle with me, just the 3 of us. I've not bought a dress yet but like this style and I think my daughter and son will be in navy blue.

@bellissimiaow a twilight wedding in an art gallery sounds wonderful! The dress (or is it a two-piece ?) really fitting with that vibe too.
I have a wedding 'fayre' booked in for Sunday, but reading between the lines it's sounding more like a sales pitch for a local hotel... And a 'virtual' goodie bag too 🤦‍♀️ Feel obliged now that I've convinced DF we need to go to these sorts of things to 'absorb' the full wedding experience 🤣

@diege I've not actually bought a dress yet but that's the style I like. I might consider a 2-piece actually, I don't think such things had been invented in 1997 for my first wedding Or maybe a simple slip dress but with a lace or embroidered overlay top/cape? It's just knowing where to look - I find so many dress places are just so big and fluffy and over the top for me. I do like a lot of the Monsoon dresses actually, maybe I'll try some of those.

My daughter is being very particular about what she'd like to wear! She's looking for something long, navy and off the shoulder (not strapless) Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look??

Wedding fayres can be a bit salesy if they're held at wedding venues. I've not been to any but would quite like to. I thought about going to a big one like the one at Birmingham NEC but was busy that weekend. I thought that there would be much more variety of stalls there to get ideas from.

I've tried ringing the Art Gallery events man again today to try and get something booked in but he was busy (with another wedding!) I really want to get a date booked so I can start to tell people. If they can't do it in Oct22 then we'll probably have to move it to spring 23.

I have also stalled on the weight loss but hoping to lose a bit more before the Christmas madness.

My DF would not go to a wedding fayre he hates things like that. He did come to cake tasting though which he loved!

I think you will find that dress at JJs house @bellissimiaow, we ordered one in the smoky blue colour but it’s too small so sending back and reordering a bigger size.

I feel like I’ve most things organised now, just little things to do. Can’t wait!

Did is getting married next summer. Venue and church booked.minister booked. Catering booked, tasting for menu choices pending. Bridesmaids etc selected. Save the dates just gone out. Readings for church picked. Flowers planned in my head.
Next big thing is the dress.....

Thanks for the recommendation for JJs House @Doidontimmm we had a look on there last night and she's seen this one that she loves. The site seems to get very good reviews and it's the only colour available in that style so I'm going to order it

@bellissimiaow the dress we got it gorgeous! It’s just my daughters chest is rather large so we should have ordered bigger to accommodate! Just make sure you go by their measurements as think the come in a little smaller.

Hi @ImInStealthMode congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Would you like to tell us all about it?

I'm way behind you all with the planning, we've not even got the date booked yet! Hoping to go for Oct 2022 so a bit later than summer but it's nice to chat and see what you're all doing anyway. Haven't thought about guest books @Doidontimmm but I guess it's a nice keepsake. I've got my first one somewhere but there must be a modern day alternative!

Of course I would! It's next June in a gorgeous largely open air landscaped venue near us (with a marquee!) that's also a local visitor attraction and one of our favourite places to visit.

Very casual, ceremony and then a party with a buffet and low-key music, a friend will DJ and musician DH2B and friends will do some ad-hoc acoustic as they feel like it.

Venue, catering, photographer, celebrant, legal side, decor, florist all sorted, just a few more bits to do now.

Oh and the dress, of course the dress....

Love wedding chat. I miss my own (still a newlywed!) planning.
There is lots of fun support pages on Instagram, I still follow them cause well… I wish I could plan mine again 😂😂

Last week's Wedding Fayre v. disappointing...around a dozen tables with rather uninspiring displays. All done in 20 minutes 🤣 Looking forward to a bigger 'exhibition -centre' type one in March. It has catwalks too! 😅
Really need to focus on shifting these last 9 pounds or so...Dress fitting Feb which will come around very quickly!
