Apologies if this exists already, if so, please could I tag along?

Getting married in August next year and would be keen on chatting all this wedding to others getting married around the same time.

There is only so much wedding talk my fiancé can take

@Doidontimmm Ooh I have also been looking at chiffon bags for favours I wasn't going to bother with, and have a wish list full of choc goodies to fill them with Are other people bothering with favours? I think my whole wedding could be sponsored by Etsy 🤣

Ps. Have just finished the last of the chocolate digestives so that is it now!!!! Weight loss recommences, if only to free me up a bit for Christmas 😆

This is a little outing but I’m from Scotland & he is from Yorkshire, we are well known for our love of tea & biscuits so we are giving everyone a tunnocks wafer & an individually wrapped Yorkshire teabag with a wee thank you tag!! At least they will get used!

@Doidontimmm oooh thats a wonderful idea! We're both Welsh - mini bara briths probably wouldn't cut it...🤣
I'm warming to the idea of favours though - something edible for sure.

We got the dress today! Also tried on bridesmaid dresses so they can be ordered.
Dd looked amazing. Fabulous day

@Northernlurker how exciting! What sort of dress did your daughter go for? Have you got your own outfit sorted?

An A line dress with straps. Very, very pretty and nice for summer. Finger tip veil to wear at the back of her head. She looked lovely but also v much like her.
No chance on my dress! That's a work in progress......

That sounds beautiful- I've gone for A line with straps myself.
Full of a cold today - I'm so glad we've gone for a summer wedding!

How's everyone doing? Nearly into the year of our weddings!
So to summarise where things are up to for me, the following tasks have been done...

1. Dress bought, alterations to length end of Feb.
2. Cake booked, tasting session Feb.
3. Venue/disco etc booked a zillion years ago. Ditto booking of registrar fir ceremony.
4. Ring maker meeting booked (complicated).
5. Hair decor/veil provisionally sorted, March appointment.
6. Groom's suit ordered.
7. Flowers ordered and paid for.
8. Invites have arrived!

TO DO...

1. Lose the weight so the dress fits
2. Write and send invites.
3. Seating plan etc
4. Centrepieces
5. Book appointments with registrars for April/May...

I actually feel quite panicked writing everything down! Oh and wedding August so time yet! 😆

@diege I now feel panicked and I only have until the beginning of June!

Dress bought, alterations April but cannot fasten it yet!
Bridesmaid dress bought and returned as not liked, daughter wants to lose weight so leaving till April!
Venue, celebrant, harpist, photographer, hair & make up booked.
Invites DIY so just need printed & posted.
Favours - half bought

God the list goes on…. I also want to catch covid before as sick of worrying about getting it!!!

Hello! How is everyone getting on??

How soon can I tell people we don’t want gifts, a few people have mentioned in passing (ie costs of outfits, drinks etc) and I want to say we really really don’t want gifts, we really are fussy & don’t want frames/toasters/light up personalised bottles and we don’t drink! We would much prefer they used that money for drink!! (We are putting money behind the bar but not sure how much so don’t want to say that yet)
