This is the finished ‘look’ with the veil and tiara etc.. too much?

You look wonderful OP.

EdWinchester · 12/10/2019 23:12

I dislike veils but really hate short veils.

wineconnoisseur · 12/10/2019 23:16

I think it looks lovely! Xx

Cantrememberpassword · 13/10/2019 01:39

The dress is lovely and you look beautiful in it.

IdblowJonSnow · 13/10/2019 02:00

Agree with comments about it being mismatched. You are stunning though. I'd go for something a bit sleeker or more simple.

BillHadersNewWife · 13/10/2019 02:10

Agree the skirt and top are mismatched...the layers of tulle or whatever it is on the skirt is particularly incongruous thanks to the "line" trim along the hems....that seems very contemporary but the bodice is more traditional.

ILearnedItFromABook · 13/10/2019 02:27

I love the ornate bodice, and I think the veil and tiara go very well with it. It's beautiful!

TheNestedIf · 13/10/2019 02:43

I like it.

It's like a steampunky Snow Queen Victoria. I couldn't pull that off but if that's you in the picture you definitely can.

nameisnotimportant · 13/10/2019 02:54

The veil and dress are beautiful but I think the tiara is too much. I generally find tiaras a bit too try hard 🤷🏼‍♀️

mathanxiety · 13/10/2019 03:58

Top is lovely and fits really well. Needs a plain skirt.

chardonm · 13/10/2019 04:49

Looks great!!!

user1483387154 · 13/10/2019 05:01

it really doesn't work.for me.

Newearringsplease · 13/10/2019 05:08

I ring wedding bells so I see a lot of dresses. It doesn't stand out or look very special. But you look beautiful , something plainer that doesn't swamp you would be better

Durgasarrow · 13/10/2019 06:00

the skirt, no. You are beaautiful, though

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/10/2019 06:17

Ok, you did ask. Top of the dress is absolutely gorgeous and you look great. Love the tiara etc too. Thought this girl looks amazing. And then I saw the other pic and saw the bottom of the dress...

JoObrien7 · 13/10/2019 06:46

I wouldn't wear a veil with it but has some flowers in your hair instead.

Thank you very much everyone for your comments, good and bad - I wanted honest opinions so appreciate them all!
Also thank you all very much for the comments saying I’m stunning etc, what lovely things to say although maybe you might say different if my face wasn’t scrubbed out!
All I have done to the dress is had it made tighter on the top half and had the lace added as I felt a bit exposed when it was just plain mesh. I’ll try and post a before photo and a photo of the back.
I bought it on my first outing trying dresses on and I think I was a bit impulsive but I have to stick with it now as money is tight and I would lose too much selling it.
It’s the wed2b Brit dress if anyone wanted to have a nosey!
Photo of before, the back and me in a more fitted style (which I felt too self conscious in due to my tummy pouch from baby/weight loss)

It's beautiful. I think fussy is in - i.e. many frills on cuffs and hems and wedding dresses change with fashion.

DHW1 · 13/10/2019 07:08

I think you’ve massively improved on the dress (from the way it originally looked) and you look absolutely stunning in it. I think it’s beautiful. At the end of the day everyone has different opinions on what is beautiful in a dress (for example I went fishtail but my best friend went full ballgown both would not have enjoyed wearing the others dress!) all that matters is how you feel on the day in the dress. You look absolutely fab though.

Ceebs85 · 13/10/2019 07:12

The layered puffy skirt is too much with so much detail in the bodice but you do look lovely in it. If you've already bought it I'd definitely ditch the tiara and veil as they are just too much and it all looks too busy together. You should go with a simple up do with loose waves I think.

MintyT · 13/10/2019 07:14

I think it's lovely and you look look lovely in it an impulse buy is good because you didn't have doubts at the time. I prefer it without the added across your chest that makes it fussy. But it's still beautiful. The dress has a personality which hopefully is you. Be brave I love it @Chavatheart

StarlingsInSummer · 13/10/2019 07:16

Love the bodice and the veil and tiara. Not as keen personally on the layers in the skirt. But overall it looks lovely.

FenellaMaxwell · 13/10/2019 07:19

The dress isn’t to my taste but it’s nice on you. Don’t wear a shirt veil and tiara though - it makes it look very 90s.

StarlingsInSummer · 13/10/2019 07:19

Also I think the fitted style looks amazing too, no sign of a tummy!

I wouldn’t get rid of the veil and tiara if YOU want them, I think they look fine.

RopeBrick · 13/10/2019 07:26

You look absolutely gorgeous
