Just very excited and wanted to share with some other brides to be because I hate the thought of boring everyone else to tears with wedding chat haha!!

Getting married May 2020 and only started shopping last month.

I'm a bridal consultant in a wedding dress shop so thought I wouldn't get "the feeling" having tried on sooo many dresses already but I can honestly say it's the one!

Would love to see everyone else's choices!

Always happy to show my lovely dress Grin I bought it in the first shop I went into (Wed2B), I was only gonna browse honestly lol!

Wow - That's some dress. It's gorgeous. I'm getting married in May and we are only just booking it!! Not even thought about my dress yet! Was more concerned with booking the vicar, church, etc etc

LittleBlonde27 · 15/01/2019 09:51

User, is it May 2020 you're getting married? I don't know where you are but in Scotland all the popular photographers, bands etc get booked up so far in advance so we've been pretty on the ball to make sure we got who we wanted.

Nope....May this year. I got the vicar/venue arranged before Xmas. A pianist was also booked then....an extravagance I will enjoy, we have a photographer, florist, nearly have the caterer sorted...all the main bits. We are doing drinks ourself, just this second a wonderful lady has agreed to organise/help/be in charge on the day at the venue. It will be wonderful. We've waited many years to do this. A dress is just a dress...it will be sorted. Our relatives have booked flights from Hong Kong (which we never expected but is amazing), all our nearest and dearest are free - again we weren't expecting that to be the case with such short notice, we have accomodation organised......I am a little surprised by the costs of everything....as we thought we were taking a cheap option...seems we aren't. But I'm not skimping on food etc as that is one of the best bits. Lol.

I'm wearing a skirt and top separately on my wedding day - getting married in October!

I've attached a photo of the skirt - it's on a very short model in the photo and I've had it tailored since, but it's floor length and has 10 layers of tulle! I cannot WAIT to wear it!

The top is nude coloured with embroidering and beading with an open back Smile

LittleBlonde27 · 15/01/2019 12:58

Aw that will be so beautiful!!!!
I'm actually considering an overskirt for my dress so I get the ballgown look for ceremony and mermaid for reception.

I never found "the one" - there were a few I could quite happily have worn really.

user1474894224 · 15/01/2019 14:20

@MaMaMaMySharona Aaahh, that's lovely.

@seratoninlevelsup so what are you wearing?

seratoninlevelsup · 15/01/2019 14:46

@seratoninlevelsup that's beautiful.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 16/01/2019 12:07

All lovely dresses. I got mine from wed2be as well. I already had one and 4 days before the wedding decided I didn't like it 🤦🏽‍♀️

Luckily they had one in my size in stock that I loved.

LittleBlonde27 · 16/01/2019 12:14

HellHaveNoFury ahhh amazing! I'm 23 May and I'm getting married in Glasgow. Where are you? I think I was super organised because I work in bridal so I knew who I wanted and didn't want to be disappointed!?

DancingHorse is that Reeta's you're in?! Wow not long to go at all! Where are you getting married?

OP posts:
hellhavenofury · 16/01/2019 12:28

@LittleBlonde27 OMG we get married on exactly the same day!! I am in Lincolnshire. I got my venue booked 2 weeks after getting engaged as we knew exactly what we wanted! Ahh, happy to receive any tips as you are clearly in the know more than me haha :-)

LittleBlonde27 · 16/01/2019 12:39

HellHaveNoFury NO WAY!! I knew what date I wanted before we even got engaged and we booked our venue within 2 weeks too!! We literally have e v e r y t h i n g booked haha! Photographer, videographer, band, cake, celebrant, cars, florist, magician, string quartet. And obviously I now have my dress. Oh and I have bridesmaids dresses too!

What do you have still to do?

hellhavenofury · 16/01/2019 13:55

@LittleBlonde27 Blimey!! You make me look so dis-organised! When are you sending out Save the dates etc? Is that your bridesmaid dresses?

All I have done is book the venue & booked the band (I know them personally) and the disco is booked as the venue dealt with that. I am going to a dress fashion show next week from the shop I want my dress from and my venue is having a wedding fair early Feb so going to that. THAT IS ALL I HAVE DONE. Oh and I have made my mind up of having 1 Made Of Honour and thats it and I have bought wedding planner organisers.
