Just curious. So many choices. What did you have?

@louderthan I love The Cure 😃👏

Azure83 · 27/10/2018 21:39

Come away with me by Norah Jones, mostly because we wanted to dance a classic waltz and this one has the required tempo.

mnahmnah · 27/10/2018 21:40

The Pixie Lott live lounge version of ‘when love takes over’. Loved the dance song but this version is slower, more romantic, but builds up

FTFF · 27/10/2018 21:41

You make my dreams by Hall & Oates.
I wanted stupidly happy by XTC but DH said no!

90percentvodka10percenthuman · 27/10/2018 21:42

We got married on Wednesday. We had Alice Cooper - poison. We both liked the inappropriate wedding music idea and didn’t really want a first dance but this came on and up we went Grin

overandunder9 · 27/10/2018 21:42

That’s brilliant @Iaimtomisbehave1

We had ‘The Conga’.

RolyRocks · 27/10/2018 21:42

The Baywatch theme tune: I’m Always Here by Jimi Jamieson.

Sounds an odd choice but the lyrics are really lovely! (We didn’t follow up with the Blind Date theme tune, more’s the pity Grin)

BikeRunSki · 27/10/2018 21:44

My Baby Just Cares for Me - Nina Simone

IsItCoffeeTimeYet · 27/10/2018 21:47

More Than Anyone by Gavin Degraw.
Not very well known but beautiful.

GlitterBurps · 27/10/2018 21:50

We had Etta James ‘At Last’ we still play it periodically and feel the same emotion. If we hear it played we stop what we’re doing and dance and my DH hates dancing! It’s very special to us.

ToEarlyForDecorations · 27/10/2018 21:52

You're the one by Elton John was our first dance song at our wedding reception.

First dance on honeymoon, 'Unforgettable' by Frank Sinatra, I think, well, anyone else who has covered. Love that song.

3boysandabump · 27/10/2018 21:52

The hokey cokey

cheesymashandbeans · 27/10/2018 21:55

Cheesy as hell but the lyrics were perfect... we had Michael Jackson- I just can't stop loving you

Follow You by Bring Me The Horizon

Our actual song is Many of Horror by Biffy Clyro but some of the lyrics were a bit odd for a first dance we thought.

MsMiaWallace · 27/10/2018 22:06

Best Friend by Queen.
We've got the lyrics framed on a wall at home.

teenybean · 27/10/2018 22:07

I'm getting married next year & a very strong contender is only you by the flying pickets, been with dp 10 years, since I was 21, so he's all I've really known & it feels like a good song for it. (Have also thought of bad touch by the blood hound gang, but that may upset his parents-they have no sense of humour!)

bookworm14 · 27/10/2018 22:09

God Only Knows by the Beach Boys.

spencermoon · 27/10/2018 22:15

If I ain’t got you by Alicia Keyes

Sforsh49 · 27/10/2018 22:18

Something I Need by One Republic - listen to the words. The original not that god awful XFactor winners version that Cowell came up with in 2014 and changed the words, it's that awful every time it came on the radio my now DH would start hitting the buttons shouting "turn it off it's ruining it for me!"

DementedO1 · 27/10/2018 22:24

We had This I Promise You by Ronan Keating, not a fan usually but this song resonated.

anxiousmotherof1 · 27/10/2018 22:27

You do something to me by paul weller

Thirtyrock39 · 27/10/2018 22:29

Aw we also had 'let's stay together' by al green and the dj introduced it saying 'here's the first dance - let's stay together ...and let's hope they do' !!

oh4forkssake · 27/10/2018 22:30

Everything, Michael Bublé.

We did quite a lot of travelling before the wedding and Magic/Heart played it all the time. We sang along every time.

We swore we wouldn’t sing while we were dancing and guess what? Grin

tasharichford · 27/10/2018 22:31

We got married June 2017, had Ellie Goulding's fire and ice. Been together 15 years so since my husband was 15! Been through lots and the lyrics suited really well.
