Does this dress suit me? Pic attached

I already have a thread running about small weddings and big dresses and have attached the picture there, but just wanted to get more of a general idea.

I am assured that it looks much better in the flesh and I bloody hope so, because I don't think it looks very nice in the picture at all! I absolutely fell in love with it in the shop. There were tears, gasps, the works! Maybe it's the angle Hmm

I have shown the picture to my DD and she says it doesn't suit me. In the shop, I thought I looked much more in and out curvy and not so up and down.

Biggest issue is, I've bought it Confused and it was in the sale, so I'm not sure I can get a refund or exchange.

Thoughts please. Feeling a bit deflated after my initial rush.

Rebecca, tbf, I had tried a couple of others in the same style and did look awful. I think this dress has some sort of magic woven into the material Grin

Maybe I'm seeing it as straight up and down, because in the flesh, I looked really in and out (couldn't breathe, but meh..) so because I have that image in my head, this, by comparison, looks much straighter.

I think you look gorgeous!! You have an amazing figure. For what it's worth, I used to be a photographer and the angle the picture is taken at is probably why you don't like the picture, it's always slightly unflattering to take a photo from below like that.

If it reassures you at all I had a massive wobble about my dress when I went back to try it on again after buying it. Then when I wore it at my wedding I loved it again. Ha ha.

In the photo you can see that the dress isn't done up at the back. Once the zip is closed it will presumably pull the middle section in a lot. So you will look more In and out. Plus not being able to breathe - but that's a mere bagatelle

Bridget, yes, my maid of honour was practically on the floor. As well as looking straighter, I also think I look larger.

Maybe bridal shops should have a phone photo ban Grin

I love it!! The picture is also taken from below which won't give you as good a view of what you actually look like either.

I think it's absolutely gorgeous and totally suits you.

My friend did this! Picked a dress as she loved it when she tried it on. Was totally different to what she went in expecting to buy. It was stunning and she was so happy. Then her nan told her it was a bit slutty (it absolutely wasn't at all! It was just a gorgeous curve hugging fishtail! !) which led to her completely worry she had messed up her choice of dress and became all critical and doubtful about it.

I told her to give her head a wobble, she wore it and looked stunning the whole day. She's glad she followed her initial choice.

Do bridal shops get annoyed if you go back to try on your dress less than a week after purchasing? Confused

I think it is done up, but I'm still wearing a bra. It's a low back. I think it will be pulled in more though, so I'm told.

Slight issue though, my gf seems very drawn to the same style. We were at a wedding fair yesterday and during the show, she gushed over one almost identical to mine! We agreed we didn't want to be matchy. Could be awkward Confused
