Does this dress suit me? Pic attached

I already have a thread running about small weddings and big dresses and have attached the picture there, but just wanted to get more of a general idea.

I am assured that it looks much better in the flesh and I bloody hope so, because I don't think it looks very nice in the picture at all! I absolutely fell in love with it in the shop. There were tears, gasps, the works! Maybe it's the angle Hmm

I have shown the picture to my DD and she says it doesn't suit me. In the shop, I thought I looked much more in and out curvy and not so up and down.

Biggest issue is, I've bought it Confused and it was in the sale, so I'm not sure I can get a refund or exchange.

Thoughts please. Feeling a bit deflated after my initial rush.

You must never look at the phone pictures after you leave the shop! My wedding shop warned me to delete immediately as the photo is so unflattering compared to the real thing. And it’s so true...every time I’ve looked at my pics I’m like ‘Ugh!’ but as soon as I go back to the shop then I’m in love with it all over again!

Honestly...the phone pics are just not the truth. Unless you have a good photographer that can bring out the sheen and detail of the dress then it won’t look the same. Phone pictures will not do this. Have you ever looked at photos of yourself and noticed the clothes rather than face/figure? No clothes look the same in amateur pics.

However, that pic shows the dress is gorgeous on you - the fit is so flattering - so I bet it is incredible in ‘real life’. Your daughter is probably just a bit knocked sideways by seeing you in something completely different!

I think you look gorgeous in it. Are there any alterations to be done? There might be things they can tweak if you are not quite 100%, but I think 👌🏻

Also, I loved my dress and I had the same gasps etc in the shop and I wore mine off the rack, it didn't need any alterations. However, I still have some wedding photos where my reaction is 😳 because I think I look a bit thick middled etc. There will always be some shots where not everything in the photo is perfect, but it would be obvious even from the phone photo if the dress didn't, and it does!

I totally agree about not looking at the phone pictures. I did the same with my engagement ring, tried it on ince and loved it, but decided to think on it and almost put myself off looking at the pictures. Then saw it again in person and fell in love all over again.

Also agree that once you’ve got hair/ make up and are posing / walking / holding flowers, you’ll love it even more.

My DD is 11 and I think expected me in the same style as I originally did, so is just having none of it.

I'm going to go for another appointment and try it on with her. Hopefully I will see what I did the first time and my DD will change her mind.

You look perfectly decent in the pic. Eveyiobe looks weird in photos-especially if wearing white. I'm sure that it looks great. Good job on the bargain.
