Walking down the "aisle" music...

I am getting married in a hotel and the venue will be decorated for a winter wedding (lights/candles etc). The "aisle" such as it is is quite short and I am struggling to think of what music to have playing - too traditional doesn't seem quite right but neither does modern?

Any ideas? Confused

ChipShopGherkin · 05/09/2017 12:32

I'm having the theme music from the start of the film Forest Gump (the bit where the feather is floating), it's a beautiful piece of music.

Allthebestnamesareused · 05/09/2017 15:00

We had The Beatles "And I Love Her".

Allthebestnamesareused · 05/09/2017 15:01

What about a Christmas Carol if its going to be a wintry theme?

FranksBobot · 05/09/2017 15:29

We are having the piano guys version of can't help falling in love.

2Cellos - Celloverse

SummerRoberts · 05/09/2017 15:35

Do you and your DP have a favourite song that means something to you?
I'd recommend looking up Vitamin String Quartet. They do beautiful versions of so many different current ale older songs.

KTD27 · 05/09/2017 15:40

I had moon river played by a string quartet. Never fails to make me sob when I hear it. ❤️

@allthebest
Assuming it's a civil wedding, you're not allowed anything religious which would include (traditional) carols

hm1610 · 05/09/2017 15:52

I’m getting married on Friday and my choice is John legend - all of meGrin

Pixey53 · 05/09/2017 16:04

Beyonce - halo was my entrance song

lokelani · 05/09/2017 16:17

The piano guys have beautiful covers.

redexpat · 05/09/2017 16:19

My sister came down to the Wallace and gromit theme tune.

How about a bit of Vivalidis winter?

AnneOfCleavage · 05/09/2017 18:51

Oh yes I totally second Vivaldi's Winter especially the second movement.

PsychoPumpkin · 05/09/2017 18:57

I too had Ellie Goulding Blush but we walked back down the aisle to 'signed, sealed, delivered'.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 05/09/2017 19:48

I really wanted the Darth Vader marching music but we thought guests might think we were a bit weird. Blush

xxxbingbunnyxxx · 05/09/2017 19:54

I know someone who had the imperial march from star wars, was appropriate for the couple, very funny, light-hearted moment

SpikeGilesSandwich · 05/09/2017 19:55

Imperial March, that's what I meant.
(Sorry, very tired, can't think straight£

SpikeGilesSandwich · 05/09/2017 19:57

£? Confused
I give up. As soon as this baby goes to sleep, I'm off to bed.

PiratePanda · 05/09/2017 19:57

This is the reason so many weddings have Pachelbel's Canon for the walk down the aisle - it can be as short or as long as you like and after playing it literally 1000s of times now bores me to tears

Boatmistress17 · 05/09/2017 19:57

We had the theme music from GOT!!

ohshiz · 12/09/2017 15:16

I'm having pachebals canon Hmm

NancyFrank · 12/09/2017 21:40

I also need help with this! God knows what the first dance will be either...

alltheworld · 12/09/2017 21:48

What is the very trad recessional music that sounds like waterfalls of peals?
