Not exactly flaming June so far.

Lots of water to come out of the sky. Yesterday proved to be very dramatic in parts of south Wales and the SW. Let's hope that it's not quite so dramatic for the east. Though it does need the rain.

Just started raining in South Yorkshire

Xiaoxiong · 10/06/2019 13:51

DS1 on half term and trying to have a nice day out in London - we are both soaked to the knees, the tube is like a sauna, traffic is gridlocked everywhere and the rain and wind is awful! I think we may give up and try another day!!

(Though the Frank Bowling exhibition at the Tate Britain was amazing and totally worth battling the elements to get there. We both loved it!)

Titsywoo · 10/06/2019 13:55

Oh dear. I'm happy for my garden and allotment but expecting a huge growth in weeds after this week which is not ideal. Really hoping for a decent weekend as DD is doing her D of E Bronze expedition in West Sussex.

perhapstomorrow · 10/06/2019 14:00

I've just noticed an amber warning for London and South East! Just in time for the school run!

TapasForTwo · 10/06/2019 14:13

Half term now?

megletthesecond · 10/06/2019 14:14

I'm going to look at this deluge in a positive light. No shorts weather for the next week or so gives me a window to get my legs ready to be waxed before summer arrives.

And my allotment spuds will be happy. but being shallow I'm mostly glad I can sort out my hair removal timetable.

Titsywoo · 10/06/2019 14:41

Not half term here Tapas - ours went back last Monday!

Banhaha · 10/06/2019 14:57

Ick. It's horrible and grey and dark. I might have to put the heating on in a bit.

Xiaoxiong · 10/06/2019 15:17

Tapas DS2 was off two weeks ago like the rest of the world, DS1's school waits until common entrance is over before the whole school can have their half term.

historysock · 10/06/2019 15:24

Been raining non stop since 3am in my bit of Hertfordshire...
Still, a drop in June keeps yer farm in tune as they say...they being farmers obvs...Smile

babysharkah · 10/06/2019 15:29

Hasn't stopped since 4am here in SE London and now we have an amber in place. I've just put the heating on.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 10/06/2019 15:33

It hasn’t stopped raining in London for hours now... my garden certainly needs it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/06/2019 15:51

1pm its hailstones HmmConfused

Bluerussian · 10/06/2019 15:56

It's been raining steadily today here but not heavily and the temperature isn't bad. Maybe it will be worse tomorrow but life goes on.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/06/2019 15:58

For some today, flooding will happen. I'm going into a meeting now, so if this can get bumped a bit Id be grateful.

Forecast says it will be much the same rest of week but a bit more sun and quite fine on Friday. Oh the joy of living in SE London. However, weather forecasts aren't always accurate.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/06/2019 17:18

Forecasting my hobby :)

You can see where the most intense rainfall is at present. Interesting looking convegence zone out to the west too. It may produce a few funnel clouds. Tomorrow, there is potential for some weak tornadoes to spin up over the western side.

My washing dried before the rain started at 2pm but it’s not stopped since. Was fairly steady until about 7:30 but it’s been getting more intense since (South Warks).

BlackeyedGruesome · 10/06/2019 21:35

Got out in the church garden for half an hour this morning as it looks like it will be too soggy the rest of the week. Weeds are bloody growing but the slugs ate the vegetable plants.

OhYouBadBadKitten, do you see anything in the forecast - even just glinting on the horizon, that's just a little bit brighter and less wet??Here in Manchester, we've had plenty of the wet and grey stuff - even by Manchester's standards!

Or do I need to start planning my ark? Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/06/2019 12:38

Maybe by the middle of next week it might be gently showery and less throwing buckets at different parts of the UK.

Trottersindependenttraders · 11/06/2019 14:19

I'll take that, thanks. My heating keeps clicking on and off, this is right in June.
