Not a great looking weekend but Sunday overnight into Monday is looking very stormy.
The metoffice have issued wind warnings for Storm Freya.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar ~'tis all part of the same system. It looks like it won't hang about for long though and it'll turn to sleet/stop in an hour or two.

It's a fairly complex system, with the parent low to the north of troublesome Freya.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 03/03/2019 18:55

The wind is so loud here at the moment.

TryItAndDieFatLass · 03/03/2019 19:08

South Wales coast and sounds horrific outside. Roads closed all around including the M4 due to fallen trees/high winds

onalongsabbatical · 03/03/2019 19:34

Ten miles south of Bristol wild winds.

GloriaSmud · 03/03/2019 19:35

Capel Curig has had a wind gust of 72mph.
It's got really windy here (Leicester) in the last 1/2 hour or so. My weather station (in the back garden, which isn't a great position as it's sheltered from a lot of weather), has just recorded a gust of 27mph Shock

I hate windy weather, im in Leicester too and just listening to it outside wondering which fence panels will blow down and how many branches will come down. Can't wait for it to calm down, wont be able to sleep till it does.

NopeNi · 03/03/2019 20:12

It's so weird to have constant, steady wind noise outside!

GloriaSmud · 03/03/2019 20:42

Yes, constant wind noise here as well. Wind gust of 28.2mph a few minutes ago.

Lwmommy · 03/03/2019 21:12

Well, just looked in the garden and looks like im going to be losing 3 fence panels and 2 posts tonight.

Aberforthsgoat · 03/03/2019 21:23

I’m south east and it’s starting to really pick up

Rowgtfc72 · 03/03/2019 21:30

East coast here. Rattling my garden about in the minute.
Got a five miles commute on my bike at 5am, hoping it's blown over a bit by then

Aberforthsgoat · 03/03/2019 21:36

Downstairs neighbour is about to lose a fence panel I think!

Fingers crossed @rowgtfc72

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/03/2019 21:36

actually, for more than the SE

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/03/2019 22:15

gosh it is windy.

good job supermarkets closed at 4 today. there were trolleys abandoned across the car park and they would have caused chaos to parked cars.

I have retrieved my bin once today at about 4.30 when the wind started gettingup. sent ex down with a half full bin bag to weight it down.

OublietteBravo · 03/03/2019 22:27

The wind has really picked up here (Bedfordshire). It sounds very wild out. I’m glad I don’t need to go anywhere until tomorrow.

Lwmommy · 03/03/2019 22:32

2 fence panels are down, wish they were on the other side, now we'll have annoying neighbours knocking at the crack of dawn insisting we replace them immediately. Full on week at work planned so not sure when thats actually going to happen.

TheClaifeCrier · 03/03/2019 22:39

Big dump of snow in West Cumbria.

BrizzleMint · 03/03/2019 22:42

WIndy here near Bristol, we have put the bins in the shed as they were blowing over.

Rowgtfc72 · 04/03/2019 04:12

Got up at 4am and nothing. Completely calm. Heard it till about 2am though!

GloriaSmud · 04/03/2019 06:49

We had a gust of wind at 9.30pm of 29mph and that was mostly it for us ~ the wind eased after that.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 04/03/2019 06:56

It's been a bit howly on and off here in the S Lakes. We've got a road blocked by snow up the coast into W Cumbria. We've had insane rain yesterday and overnight. It is looking a lot calmer now though and it's average temps.

Lwmommy · 04/03/2019 07:28

Gloriasmud, wind in this part of Leicester kept in till just before 11pm, fence went down at 10.30 the impatient bastard. If it could have just held on another 30 mins it would have been a shoring up job rather than a replacementGrin

Myusernameismud · 04/03/2019 07:33

Still pretty windy in east anglia, and bloody freezing too. Its been howling all night. We're quite rural here, with overhead power lines so I'm amazed we didn't have a power cut. I was out on toad patrol with DD last night and lost my toad bucket to a big gust. It was my favourite bucket too, I had a dream about it before I bought it.
