there is a humdinger of a thunder storm just a few miles away. we are on the edge of the cloud system.

Who is underneath the storm?

OP posts:
GloriaSmud · 13/09/2016 17:30

Lots of lightning strikes going on at the moment over the W.Midlands and it's not far from where I am (Leicester)
Perhaps it'll come more this way

Tiggeryoubastard · 13/09/2016 17:31

Hope it come here (west Yorks).

JennyOnAPlate · 13/09/2016 17:33

It's jut left Birmingham. It was epic! House alarms going off everywhere still.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/09/2016 17:34

Very hazy in East Midlands and soooooooo humid!

bloomburger · 13/09/2016 17:34

Where are you?

I'd love a thunderstorm, might make my headache disappear!

CwtchMeQuick · 13/09/2016 17:36

Shropshire here, the worst has just passed but it's been awful. My friends say it's just hit Birmingham city centre

MayhemandMadness01 · 13/09/2016 17:37

Is it going north or south? Am in Liverpool.

sonlypuppyfat · 13/09/2016 17:39

I'm in the West Midlands and it has gone very dark

123rd · 13/09/2016 17:40

Oh, is it coming towards the east coast??? Please say yes

CwtchMeQuick · 13/09/2016 17:41

Seems to be going east mayhem we've had 4 hours of torrential rain Hmm still thundering now but it's not so dark

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 13/09/2016 17:41

It's just passed through the West Mids, I think - I'm in the middle-ish, and we've had lots of heavy rain and it went very dark. No thunder or lightening, though, and it seems to be brightening up again quite quickly.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 13/09/2016 17:42

Wow Cwtch, really?! We had about 15 minutes. Seems we got off lightly!

Hidingtonothing · 13/09/2016 17:45

I'm West Midlands too, don't think I've ever seen it go so black before a storm! Lightening was awesome though and the thunder woke my DH who had dozed off on the sofa when he got in from work, that's no mean feat as he sleeps like a dead man Shock

NonStopNeuroticCabaret · 13/09/2016 17:47

Very dark in East Cheshire right now.

CwtchMeQuick · 13/09/2016 17:48

Yep Anchor, it started about 1pm and has only just stopped. It slowed to a drizzle for about 20 mins around 3pm but other than that it has been absolutely bucketing down and the thunder and lightening didn't stop the whole time. DS was most put out because Sky stopped working Grin

leccybill · 13/09/2016 17:50

Gone very dark here in the NW. Been raining since 3.00.
Heatwave expected tomorrow.
The weather is officially bonkers this week!

TiggeryBear · 13/09/2016 17:50

We had that earlier, a wonderful thunderstorm in Dorset & seemed to be heading across to Somerset whilst we drove the other way. Was followed by brilliant sunshine & if possible even more sticky/humid/muggy air :-(

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/09/2016 17:52

A storm would be lovely!

exLtEveDallas · 13/09/2016 17:54

It left us here in Worcs about 30 mins ago and it's bloody freezing now - when the storm was here it was really warm and muggy.

bearleftmonkeyright · 13/09/2016 17:54

Just outside Stoke on Trent, it's black over Bills mothers.

P1nkP0ppy · 13/09/2016 17:57

We had the whole shebang in north Wiltshire at lunchtime, no sign of the so-called record temperatures here. It's barely hit 22°, very muggy.

LearningHowToFly · 13/09/2016 17:57

We're near Stafford and it's right over head, all very dramatic. Lightning flash after flash!

GloriaSmud · 13/09/2016 18:11

Still nothing here (Leicester) but a nice breeze has got up. Think all the storms are going to stay stuck over W. Midlands way Sad

bearleftmonkeyright · 13/09/2016 18:34

We had half an hour of it and it's stopped now. It's so hot here.

CumbrianExile · 13/09/2016 18:38

Its in Manchester now. I got in from work just in time thankfully!
