there is a humdinger of a thunder storm just a few miles away. we are on the edge of the cloud system.

Who is underneath the storm?

Manchester city centre got hit about 6pm and it's still pouring down a half hour later.

Right underneath it here in Manchester. It's fab. Pitch dark, lashing rain and thunder/lightning.

Lots of thunder and lightning and rain.

Have had to brave the rain to clear the drain from the guttering down pipe - we had a flood in the garage.

DH is hoping the City match is not cancelled.

It's unusual to get a proper thunderstorm in England. This was a regular occurrence growing up in Ohio.

You knew you were in for it when the sky turned green and the trees shivered silver.

Getting double lightning here now and constant thunder rumbling.

We had an absolutely epic thunder storm in Birmingham - the best I've seen in absolutely years!

In Eastbourne here, and it's still around 27 at the moment. One of my dogs is terrified of lightening- hope it doesn't make it this far south!

We are in Cheshire and it's rained constantly for around 3 hours now. The thunder and lightning lasted for about an hour - we are still getting the odd rumble now.

I'm on my way back from a very sunny and hot Lincolnshire to Birmingham, and worried about how frightened poor DDog will have been, having seen this! She hates thunder and lightening. DH went out just before the storm started so she has probably been petrified and on her own.

It went very dark here in Derbyshire but had no rain at about 6... Wonder if we've missed it?!

Can literally see the zig zags of lightening in the sky, the thunder & lightening is coming at the same time and our lights keep going on and off

I'm wondering if there's any possibilty of storms tomorrow and if so roughly where... if I'd known today that Birmingham was going to get hammered I'd have nipped over there, I'd maybe have even gone to Manchester or Sheffield. Where I am it just skirted past though I got some fab pics of the edge of the storm cell

Anyway if anyone has an inkling please do let me know...
