All change come the weekend. We can wave goodbye to lovely warmth, sitting in the garden, drying clothes on the line and say hello to our wellies again.

Outlook looks much more mobile from the weekend, with potential gales perhaps on Monday. Something Im keeping an eye on.

Ahh. I had suspected as much - mainly because I am going to Devon for the weekend Sad.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/09/2014 13:50

You might squeeze out a reasonable weekend in Devon depending on the timings of weather fronts.

What about for the rest of October though Kitten? Have got building works starting on Monday.

ChippingInLatteLover · 30/09/2014 13:59

Couldn't you please just lie?????

Hmm

Harumph.

OK, so, which is going to be the nicest day before Monday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/09/2014 14:10

it depends which you prefer, gfs or UKMO. GFS has drizzle in your region chipping with heavier rain at times on saturday ukmo stays dry a bit longer after a damp start. on and off cloudy beofre the weekend with a few bits of damp possible at times.

Pesto, for the first half it looks unsettled, especially in the NW where there could be a lot of rain. Bummer of timing for you.

Oh well, it's outdoors stuff and we're in the South East, they'll just have to get wet Grin

ChippingInLatteLover · 30/09/2014 19:49

Whoever gives the best chance of sunshine! Grin

Have to give the bikini on last airing :)

JerseySpud · 30/09/2014 19:54

I just want it cold

SpottyTeacakes · 30/09/2014 19:54

I've bought ds a cute waterproof snow suit and I want him to be able to wear it so I'd like cold and wet please ConfusedGrin

JuniperTisane · 30/09/2014 22:42

I'm a bit pleased really, just watched the bbc forecast with a little grin for the proper autumn weather, although I suspect when I'm toiling up and down the hill to school and back I won't be so pleased.

I'm a bit apprehensive about this winter as the chimney needs some serious repointing which can't be done for some months for lots of reasons. Lots of cold is fine, lots of wet, not so much. Don't fancy a puddle in the bathroom again from the rain being pushed through the chimney breast and down the light fitting...

GloriaSmud · 02/10/2014 10:33

'Tis looking very wet and windy for Monday ~ seems autumn will well and truly arrive this weekend.

GloriaSmud · 02/10/2014 18:55

Now have some weather warnings for tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. Have a feeling some might follow for Monday as well at a later date.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/10/2014 19:01

Autumn is definitely starting.

Hi OYBBK - how's you?

I am hoping to go away for half term, totally undecided as to where. Any chance of finding somewhere with a bit of sunshine short haul do you think?

I LOVE autumn, but I'd just like a litttttttle bit more sunshine on my bones first.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/10/2014 15:32

It's too early for me to advise on half term weather I'm afraid, but I've had good luck with Crete at this time of year.

Rain band showing up nicely here. Not started raining here yet (Leicester) but 'tis quite blusterous out and 15.8C

ChippingInLatteLover · 04/10/2014 07:29

Crete you say... hmmm will go and have a look :) Thanks Flowers

GloriaSmud · 04/10/2014 10:04

Chipping ~ is Cyprus too far? My parents have been there the last few weeks and have been complaining it's too hot it's been a rather nice 25-28C.

'Tis interesting the drop in temperatures we've had ~ we got up to 16C at 7.51 and now it's a chilly 11.7C.

GloriaSmud · 05/10/2014 22:05

We woke up to our first frost of the autumn/winter this morning ~ temperature was down to 1.5C at 6.53am.

Updated warnings here right through 'til Tuesday ~ looks like it's going feel like proper autumn this week.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/10/2014 22:38

It's going to be a bit of a shock. We had our first frost too but it was followed by a lovely day - gardening with a light jacket on.
Massively not ready for autumn/winter.

I don't know Gloria, I'll have a look at the flights tomorrow... thanks for the suggestion.

I took a photo of the unusual cloud formation last night, will show it to my friend on Thursday if she reminds me!

It was lovely here today - on and off. I went down to the park for a bit. Lots of people out which was nice to see.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2014 06:52

We had a frost when it was cold a few weeks ago. Only a slight one. Sounds windy outside...

saintlyjimjams · 06/10/2014 06:57

The wind kept me awake most of last night (the back of the house faces the sea & gets everything thrown at it). Very stormy in Devon.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/10/2014 08:25

Looks like Skye bridge is closed due to high wind at present.
