SE
It poured down for hours but taking a break atm.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2014 07:39

Horrendous amount of water on the roads Sad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/01/2014 08:36

I don't know why there wasn't a yellow warning for the amount of rain we had overnight. Perhaps the met office are getting as bored of the rain as we all are.

yellow warnings issued this morning for parts of the SE and east.

Warnings already in existence for NI.

We are on yellow warning for tomorrow , roads are already quite wet but it's becoming the norm now to avoid certain roads and villages when it's been raining, will this rain ever stop?

HeeHiles · 17/01/2014 13:58

Please don't snow!! It's spring in London already - blossom on the trees, my daffs and hyacinths are pushing their way up and we have a snowdrop, all on her own, standing strong!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/01/2014 14:16

Well its not looking quite so wet next week. Following week has lots more wet but a cool down is currently being modelled at the end of the month.

Here comes the rain again ..... Grin

Was lovely at lunch time, took the dog out, sky was blue and it was quite warm, then we had a few heavy showers, now its chucking it down with rain Sad.

digerd · 17/01/2014 18:08

The fields have big puddles where the water has not managed to drain away- clay soil here. Roads OK. Rained again this morning during dog walk but afternoon was fine with sunny periods.

HeeHiles · 17/01/2014 20:59

Cool down? But no snow? Make it not snow Kitten I know you can do it!

digerd · 18/01/2014 07:51

At 11.20 last night it was only 2 degrees so must have stiil been a clearish sky. This morning it is 7 but whether it rained or not I don't know as didn't hear it like the night before.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2014 08:06

It was raining when I got up

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2014 08:40

There are still hints of colder weather at the end of the month and yes potentially cold enough for snow with the disturbed weather pattern still continuing.

It seems that the heavy rainfall in Surrey and other parts of the SE was missed by all of the main models yesterday and around 40mm was delivered. It demonstrates that even very short term the models still miss stuff.

Glancing around the weather message boards, there seem to be quite a few amateur forecasters (doing their own long range forecasts last November time) who thought that Christmas would be mild but February and March would be really cold.
Will be interesting to see if they're going to be right.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2014 09:13

It will be really interesting hope they are wrong

Spotty congratulations, November is a fab month to get married in.....It rained solidly for a week before my November outdoor ceremony, then 1/2 hour before the sun came out Grin
Just been down to London. Can't believe how sodden the ground is in my mum's garden, we've just not had it so bad up here and don't have clay soil.......

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2014 14:54

We're not allowed to get married outside because the surrey registrar's won't do it in winter! We're going for quick and quiet though Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2014 17:13

Followed by a big mn party??

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2014 17:18
