For when this one gets full up :)

Still snowing powder, and still haven't been able to take little dog for a walk.
I shall attempt it at 3pm today, at least I intend to for little dog's sake. If she will go out in it.

WhispersOfWickedness · 20/01/2013 14:09

Nothing here yet. DH is going to tempt fate soon by going to the supermarket 20 mins drive away Grin

pepperrabbit · 20/01/2013 14:13

We've had constant very fine snow all day, car is coated again but it's not settling. I await the verdicts for school opening tomorrow, main roads are clear and we're close enough to walk but it might be too icy.
DH is press-ganging the DCs to go out for a walk, there is much muttering Grin

MumVsKids · 20/01/2013 14:15

Ok finally have some little fine powdery stuff coming, but nothing to settle or accumulate.

I want tons of it!!!! Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/01/2013 14:24

The map is a bit of a pain I agree! Particularly on the ipad. You can zoom in though.
Is this the one you are using? you can put in your own location obv!

No the weather warning one. The other day I couldn't decide if I was in a yellow or amber warning.

GloriaSnow · 20/01/2013 15:09

Snow's beginning to settle on the main roads on our estate now. The metoffice are saying that this is supposed to carry on 'til 6am tomorrow for us! Still, we've been out on the sledge and then come back to hot chocolate and DD2's birthday cake ~ she thinks this has been the best birthday ever!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/01/2013 15:11

That bit is a bit rubbish lilleth because even if you go to the five day bit instead of the map, it puts the warning symbol out that applies to the whole region even if its actually only a small part of that region covered not including yours.

Snowing here outskirts of north London since 9ish.

redwellybluewelly · 20/01/2013 15:27

Now have heavy driving snow - small flakes but its got very cold, started 15.12 a few miles north of Norwich

Porkster · 20/01/2013 15:33

We've got loads of snow here (herts).

It has been snowing all day, very fine but heavy ifkwim.

Excellent sledging and fun had by us all today, until we got frozen feet.

Now we've got a roaring fire and knackered dog!

mankyscotslass · 20/01/2013 15:34

Envy Sad

wibblyjelly · 20/01/2013 15:41

We've just had lightening-never seen that when its snowing before!

41notTrendy · 20/01/2013 15:44

No snow yet in Nottm! Is it EVER going to come?! I'm v jealous of this talk of heavy snow. Confused

Saltire · 20/01/2013 15:47

Well no snow in North Yorkshire, don't know if we are meant to get it

pigsinmud · 20/01/2013 15:50

Our schools have made the decision to open tomorrow, so dc a bitAngry

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/01/2013 15:55

I have to say I'm utterly puzzled. According to the radar the snow band seems to have got stuck over East Anglia. It should have moved further north by now I'm sure.

lubeybooby · 20/01/2013 16:00

Wow, nodded off for an hour on the sofa and woke up to another 2cm :o

So we've managed about 3.5 to 4cm today. (leicestershire)

LillethTheCat · 20/01/2013 16:00

It was that warning map that put me off the whole site, but I will use it from now on for the 24 hour forecasts. Thanks for your help Kitten

Saltire Ive not seen any in North Yorkshire all day and my road is still completely clear. I think it is supposed to snow tonight though. Where abouts are you? Im near Richmond.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/01/2013 16:01

Why did that post? I wasn't ready to post! It looks like the snow band is moving much slower than first forecast, so EA is going to get loads. Should reach N. Yorkshire over night.

Well I've given up hope now :(

DDs will be most disappointed tomorrow - they were hoping for a snow day even though we live 5 mins walk from school on the flattest road in existence

MegBusset · 20/01/2013 16:02

I'm in Norwich and no snow yet! Hoping it passes us by!!

MumVsKids · 20/01/2013 16:05

Even met office are saying we're done at that :(

I'm officially gutted now!

Porkster · 20/01/2013 16:05

Well I'd agree with that OYBBK, (we get Anglian news, so I guess that's us).

It has snowed here for about 7 hours now. We got home from sledging 2 hours ago and no trace of our foot prints!

KatieScarlett2833 · 20/01/2013 16:06

Any word on east Fife for tomorrow am ( DH HAS to get to work in central belt tomorrow by car and am wondering whether to pack him off to a travelodge tonight) TIA
