looks potentially nasty for Scotland and parts of northern England, severe gales expected.

We're in kent, it's hideous this morning - really, really windy and raining quite a lot as well.

Am very grateful for the heads up - I had a leaking chicken shed and got it done yesterday as I'd seen it'd be bad again today!

Thanks Kitten Smile

Constance39 · 11/11/2010 09:36

Ooh where are you off to chickies?

mankyscotslass · 11/11/2010 09:44

A bit windy and rainy here, but not too bad at the moment! Greater Manchester.

petunia · 11/11/2010 09:56

Dull, grey, wet with a gusty wind here in Leicester ~ have seen lots of leaves shooting past the window this morning! To add to the 'fun', it's also bin/recycling day so the wheelie bins are falling over as soon as they're emptied and there are plastic bottles everywhere, as those bins have gone over too!

ChickensHaveNoLips · 11/11/2010 10:03

Dublin, Constance. Where all the nasty wind is coming from. Arse.

DanceInTheDark · 11/11/2010 10:57

It's hideous here.

We get really high winds, then LOTS of rain, then drizzle (which is the calm!) and then the same again and then all at once.

petunia · 11/11/2010 11:09

Updated weather warnings across the middle of the country.

moonmother · 11/11/2010 12:35

Torro added updated warnings too.

Brightened up here for a short time, but it's darkening to the West and the rains started again. Winds starting to pick up slightly too.

mankyscotslass · 11/11/2010 13:43

Just back from my lunchtime assisstant duties.

A bit windy but nothing to write home about, and only a bit of rain right at the end of playtime, so no wet play, thank God!

Im a lunchtime assistant too manky although only do 2 days a week cover. I hate wet plays too, I've only been doing it since Sep so still finding my feet.Grin

Suns out here again, but the winds really picking up, have been out in the garden and put the garden table and chairs in the shed, and moved all other things that may be damaged up against the house wall. All should be OK as long as the wind stays blowing in the same direction.

On a good note it's quite warm, as long as your out of the wind .

mankyscotslass · 11/11/2010 14:31

Moonmother, I only started on Monday, and the first day was wet play....I have one year group to keep an eye on, 60 kids!

Duns out here at the moment too, so maybe I will be ok when I collect my little cherubs!

mankyscotslass · 11/11/2010 14:34

Sun even. Grin

moonmother · 11/11/2010 14:37

60 Oh my God thats a huge amount of children. I have 1 class of 28Blush

I'm taking my hat off to ya - wet play and 28 kids is bad enough!

Gone really dark here , just checked MO invent page and they said no rain now till tomorrow. Then again they've buggered up with this storm as well.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/11/2010 14:53

FFS i brought a lovely rain coat and boots... it pissed down all morning ans then my coat and boots got delivered and now its really sunny. Hmm Typical.

mankyscotslass · 11/11/2010 15:56

Still dry here but it's gone very dark!

I made it back from the school run without being rained on!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/11/2010 16:22

fab, thanks for looking after the thread :) - just got back in, some stormy conditions - very heavy rain, strong gusts, but nothing extreme. off to look at situation now.

Looks nasty tonight in the north still - going to be a long wild night for many, particularly still in the nw.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/11/2010 16:31

jajas - near the coast in the se - 60mph? inland 40-50mph, a little calmer at dawn before picking up again in the morning. If you are far se you still need to get this squall line over and done with first which is quite powerful.

midnightexpress · 11/11/2010 16:34

Wild wet and windy here (W Central belt of Scotland), but no severe warnings out for here. So I have hopes that the enormous pine tree in the front garden may still be upright in the morning.

DanceInTheDark · 11/11/2010 17:19

Been very windy here all day with little change. And apart from a period of blue skies Shock its either been really heavy rain - sometimes horizontal- or ordinary rain.
There was a HUGE black cloud heading back our way at 3 but it's not opened yet. WIll prob open as i go out later.Hmm

gust of 91mph already recorded at Capel curig (infamous for its strong winds under these conditions but still...)
