Sorry if I missed this earlier, but what is Bounty exactly? I was stuck in hospital for 8 nights after DS and we were badgered by the bloody Bounty rep 3 or 4 times during our stay. The Bounty bag was left on the sofa in the delivery room when we took occupation, but the rep had a second bag with more leaflets and samples to give me, and insisted on barging on me and DS while we were wrestling with BFing. DH had to tell her to sod off in the end...and all round the ward, I could hear the Bounty reps interupting other mothers, all busy with their babies. The one we had 'insisted' because she said she had the Government Trust Fund application papers for us. Why on earth are Bounty (whoever they are) distributing official benefits paperwork?

(I remember one of the other things they were touting was a photo session done while still in hospital. We said no bloody thanks, but another woman across from me was pressured into it (ok, it wasn't that hard a sell, but she was about 12 hours post-childbirth!) and when her partner came back, I couldn't help but hear them argue about it - they couldn't afford the £80 for the photos, but she thought she'd committed herself, and was now kicking herself for being a mug. I felt really for her!)

MamaHobgoblin - Bounty is a commercial organisation masquerading as a good source of advice and freebies, whilst targeting new parents with adverts for shite that undermines bf and weaning guidelines.

Am starting to think NHS and other Govt departments should have nowt more to do with them.

there is some dozy mare on there posting photos of her teeny tiny baby 'feeding herself' with a spoon.

errr no love. she is playing with a spoon you've handed to her and putting it in her mouth, same as she would if you gave her a stuffed toy. she'd suck sloppy puree off anything, teddy, book, pram wheel.. just cos it's a spoon doesn't make it self feeding you silly moose.

AA - don't think that thread has been deleted yet as I followed a link to it from here earlier. Bounty admin don't appear to work weekends but I'd imagine it will be carnage on monday morning with things vanishing and all of us getting banned. I'll see if I can find it again now...

No, she posted before I did, and pretty much said what I was going to. Well, if people go by others anectdotal experiences, then I thought I'd add mine... My sis had ibs too. My dd1 has excema, my dd2 has a mild intolerence to milk, both weaned at 16 weeks, why on earth, knowing what I know now, would I risk something much worse for ds??

Well we are being a leetle harsher on here than what they are used to over there...

But on there I have made every effort to be polite.

You haven't said anything wrong. Yes we are harsher on here, but when we were posting all them guidelines etc. few days ago, we were having all sorts of insults thrown around, but ignored it.
