MerryLittleCarrotmas · 04/01/2008 02:13

AITCH!!!

I just bought an ikea highchair two days ago.

...ON YOUR ADVICE, WOMAN!

When for a mere £225 extra I could have had one of these.

Oh Aitch, I've been lusting after that thing for about 6 months now

I have also developed a great pushchair design based on the same kind of shape.

However I have no idea how to patent it so it will be thought of by someone else no doubt while I sit here eating beans on toast for the next 3 years.

moondog · 04/01/2008 08:14

Twould get filthy in five mins.

shoshe · 04/01/2008 08:30

Hunker I agree with you it horrible!

And who in their right mind pays 300.00 for a highchair!!!!!

Give me my triptrapp anyday.

LilRedWG · 04/01/2008 08:37

It's a bit too Mork and Mindy for my liking!

Give me my Ikea highchair anyday (also bought on Aitch's recommendation - d'you think she gets commission?).

Actually, for that price, give me 20 Ikea highchairs anyday!

CorrieDale · 04/01/2008 08:54

I thought it was horrible until I caught Aitch's comment about the mini-Bond villain. Now, I just keep imagining DD sat there, waving toast with one hand, stroking her cuddly cat with the other, and looking menacingly at DS sat opposite to her. Maybe I'll just do a cut & paste and get it out of my system....

MerryPIFFLEmas · 04/01/2008 09:03

why would you not just stick a carseat on the table
micro suede upholstery
pmsl
for those who like cleaning IMO although at least in orange its sensible colour choice

Heifer · 04/01/2008 09:10

I love it also - and would happily pay £239.97 for it! well if DD wasn't 4 and DH had agreed to spending that much on a high chair!

Great shape and form though (as DH would say), very styletastic...

Anything for older children around similar?

Heifer · 04/01/2008 09:17

They do make some fab stuff - wish it was around when my DD was a baby - at least then we would have had some cool furniture.. (baby stuff far cheaper than full size furniture)

Heifer · 04/01/2008 09:19

sorry re link - not been on MN so much recently and completely forgot about the

TheGoatofBitterness · 04/01/2008 09:27

sorry it is vile and the price! and as for those le corbusier rocking baby seats - naffarama.

babies are not designer they are messy little bundles wrapped up in fluffiness and unrelenting cuteness.

meep · 04/01/2008 09:30

I was about to make a trip through the snow to Ikea - and was throroughly excited about purchasing THE high chair - feel a bit delfated now -I want an egg chair!!!!

Aitch · 04/01/2008 12:00

sorry littlecarrot and meep.

it is the funniest thing i've seen in ages, deffo. that baby rocker thing is actually rather gorgeous too, although it doesn't seem to have the vibrate function that dd loved so...

Check this out

For those of you who didn't like the orange version!

YeahBut · 05/01/2008 17:05

Actually, it says "Austin Powers" to me. "Shepherd's Pie, mummy? Grooooooovy Baby!!!!"

ladytophamhatt · 05/01/2008 17:09

ignore the weird orange glow coming from my screen but can anyone tell me about the IKEA chair?

which one is it?

why don't I know about it?

AndAHabbiBuYear · 05/01/2008 17:12

Oh Aitch, Aitch - you have not only lost the moral high ground, but slid all the way down below the Land of TripTrap...

But then I have a Silver Cross coach built pram, so who am I to talk?

Aitch · 05/01/2008 19:06

some parenting website or other gave it a good review, lth.

oh habbs...

OP posts:
tassisssss · 05/01/2008 19:09

don't like it, sorry

but then to me highchairs are a necesarry evil - the only saving grace of ours is that it folds up and i can hide it in the cupboard if I have folks round.

Monkeytrousers · 05/01/2008 19:11

but how would you keep it clean?!

Aitch · 05/01/2008 19:14

i think you just have to be so rich that you buy a new one when it gets dirty. no bother.
