I am struggling for ideas this time and thought thought that this could be a good way to share ideas, if anyone is interested.

DD is 6.5m. Mainly BLW but with the occasional spoon fed meal if it makes more sense to spoon feed.
Number of meals depends on what is going on but God help me if I am eating and she is not.

So yesterday
Breakfast- porridge with banana puree mixed in.
Lunch- avocado on toast
Tea- sweet potato wedges

DD2 tends to have more meals when dd1 is home from nursery as they eat together.

Sounds fine to me @MonkeyPuddle.
I have 3 chocolate hobnobs for lunch yesterday.
Today DD had
B- attempted porridge again but she just spat it out. She doesn't seem at all keen on breakfast cereals which is s bit of a pita.
A satsuma
L- leftover BBQ chicken, cucumber, red pepper, piece of wrap with cream cheese.
Melty rice cracker things.
Few blueberries
T- cod en papillote with spinach and courgette, roast new potatoes and cauliflower.
Natural yogurt for pudding.

B: oatmilk porridge with stewed apple and summer berries. Toast fingers with almond butter.

L: 3/4 pouch lentil and vegetable stew in a cafe.

T: refried beans mixed with rest of pouch and some coriander and coconut yogurt. Strips on flat bread to dip. Slices of cucumber and yellow pepper. Peach chia pudding.

WithRosesAroundTheDoor · 26/05/2021 22:17

B- tried shreddies but these were also rejected. She is just not a cereal fan.
Strawberry and natural yogurt
L- beans on toast
Blueberries
T- meatball and tomato pasta bake
Pepper, cucumber, tomato chunks, finger of garlic bread.

It's been a funny old day. She had a really long nap this afternoon (she usually only does 40 mins) and so missed a bottle and then didn't have a third nap. I was really quite pleased. Until bedtime when she went down easily but woke screaming 20 minutes later and was impossible to resettle. In the end I had to give her another bottle but she still struggled to drop off and stay asleep.

Oh well, we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Oo this thread is interesting for me as my LO is weaning and LOVES her food but has totally gone off breastfeeding through the day with me practically forcing her to feed for a few minutes at times I would have pre-weaning! I see a lot of you seem to have cut down a lot on the milk feeds through the day though?
Baby didn’t have anything exciting today.
Breakfast: tried and refused peanut butter porridge. Instead had weetabix, strawberries and raspberries.
Lunch: tortellini pasta with sweet corn and grated cheese.

I was holding off giving a third meal as I kept reading she shouldn’t have 3 yet but I’ve also noticed a lot of you are giving 3 meals a day which is encouraging me just to go with my gut instinct and do it! If she has tea with us, she’ll be having chicken fajitas (hers will be deconstructed!)

Vicky1989x · 03/06/2021 18:24

6oz milk
B: scrambled egg, toast with dairylea and a fruit pouch
L:- cheesy pasta and veg (ellas pouch), cucumber, yogurt and a biscotti
6oz milk
D:- chicken with gravy, swede and carrot mash, broccoli, cauliflower and banana

Another 6oz bottle in a bit before bed 🙌🏻

@SkyTrees peach chia yoghurt sounds yummy, do you have a recipe for it?

SkyTrees · 06/06/2021 13:43

@Laur89 the peach chia pud was a tin of peaches in juice, blended. Then I added oatmilk (cmpa allergy, but just use whatever milk you like) and chia seeds. Blended it a bit more but not really necessary, just makes the seeds less messy! Then I stirred in some baby rice we had in the cupboard too.

Chillychili · 06/06/2021 20:15

Loving getting ideas, won’t put in breast feeds as she has them after sleep. Sometimes as pudding after a meal, she isn’t drinking much water.

Breakfast:wheat a bix banana and strawberry.
Lunch: grated cheese, tuna Mayo, pasta, crackers with cream cheese (ds was eating them and she wanted them too)
Tea: cheese omelette, broccoli, grated cheese, avacado, apple crumble pudding pot, banana pancake.
I have been away for a week and haven’t done a proper shop, so meals today have just been whats around/needs using up.
Lovely to get some ideas as stuck in a bit of a ‘safe food’ rut. We had a choking incident which terrified me.

Laur89 · 07/06/2021 13:30

Thank you @SkyTrees , will give it a go! Your meals always look really yummy :)

SkyTrees · 07/06/2021 19:53

Been away for half term and forgot about the thread. Will restart now. Baby is now 7months old. I’m also not bothering putting the breastfeeds in as I’ve never really kept track of them - all I know is he definitely has less during the day now he’s eating such large meals, but he just seems to prefer having food during the day. To this end I am trying to make sure his food is nutrient rich, or he often has nut butters stirred in etc. Especially concerns me due to being dairy free, so if anyone has ideas for calcium rich dairy free foods let me know! He does still breastfeed a lot in the early hours though.

B: blueberry oatmilk porridge and half a crumpet with almond butter.

L: Chinese spiced sweet potato and pork meatballs (but shaped like mini sausages as easier to self feed). Avocado slices. Also mashed avo with a couple of the meatballs in it and cherry tomatoes, coriander and oatmilk yogurt. Couple of fingers of toast.

T: Seabass and red peppers with ginger and soy sauce, sticky rice. Broccoli. Half a pouch of pasta Bolognese. Oatmilk yogurt with prunes.

Also had some strawberries from his brother’s after school snack

Chillychili · 08/06/2021 17:52

@SkyTrees I would love to come your house to eat!

B; wheat a bix, strawberries, yogurt.
L; home made blueberry muffins with Philadelphia, bread sticks with hummus.
T; pasta with roasted veg sauce. Grated cheese. A pudding pot.

SkyTrees · 08/06/2021 18:28

I think everyone else’s food sounds great! I think it’s just when somebody else has done the thinking and cooking it’s much nicer!

Today has been chaotic and his meals have been a bit crap tbh

B: blueberry oatmilk porridge and half a crumpet with almond butter

L: rest of yesterday’s pasta bolognese pouch. Strawberries. Oatmilk yogurt and prunes (shovelled down him as we were going to miss train, he then threw most of it up in the sling)

T: Beef casserole pouch with added chopped broccoli and cherry tomatoes. Broccoli as finger food too. Rest of us are eating later when my older boy gets back from his club, so hopefully will have some tasty leftovers for baby for tomorrow! Feel awful giving him two pouch dinners.

Lnix · 09/06/2021 10:04

Guys, at 7.5 months, how much food should I expect to actually go in and STAY in when doing finger foods 😅 so much on floor and bib (unintentially). I know that's totally and completely normal but not sure my LO would get enough in at the moment? I spoonfeed as well.

Lnix · 09/06/2021 19:43

Today I tried to let him feed himself a bit more...
B: Usual wheatabix, fresh mango puree (spoonfeed)
L: Sweetcorn and cabbage fritters (loved these), tomato slices, cucumber and broccoli.
D: Shepherds pie filling (spoonfeed) with potato waffles for self feeding. More fritters, lol.

SkyTrees · 09/06/2021 22:39

I don’t know the quantities, I don’t know anyone who has let their baby solely self feed. I planned to but he seems to like being fed as well as doing it himself. Sometimes I pick up his partially destroyed finger foods and add them to whatever mashed type stuff he is having via spoon

SkyTrees · 09/06/2021 22:45

Today he had
B: blueberry oatmilk porridge and half a crumpet with almond butter

L: Moroccan spiced couscous with apricots and cherry tomatoes, lemon garlic chicken. Sweet potato mash. Broccoli and carrot batons.

T: sweet potato and dried apricot mash with some baked beans mixed in (the rest of us had bacon and beans on toast as we need to do a food shop). Broccoli and carrot batons. Almond yogurt

Lnix · 10/06/2021 08:33

Yeah...I did mixed with my daughter and she was happy with me spooning in til she was about 10 months, with self feeding on the side. Then she did a fairly decent job of it herself. This wee fellow isn't a huge fan of the spoon but LOVES his food and wants to do it himself. He's learning to crawl at the moment so a bit fractious in general! He made a great job of the fritters on his own 😀X

SkyTrees · 10/06/2021 23:14

Fritters sound great @Lnix - you’ve inspired me to make some this weekend.

Our food today:

B: Bircher muesli mixed with bit of fruit juice and almond yogurt. Blueberries. Half a crumpet with almond butter.

L: sweet potato and apricot mash with almond yogurt and peanut butter stirred in (he loved it!). Broccoli and carrot batons.

T: Spaghetti bolognese, more broccoli

Lnix · 11/06/2021 19:45

Today we had:
B - porridge 'fingers' and strips of pancake, while I spooned in some wheatabix.
L - sweet potato mash shepherd's pie, cucumber slices.
D - Mini homemade burger, scrambled egg. Yoghurt and mango mixture.
