Hi Jodie.
How old is your DS? Is he waking up early in the morning or in the middle of the night
Both myself and Charliegirl have had this problem and from what I can tell it's very common in 8-10 month olds. My dd just started to take it again after a bit of jiggling of what food was given and when.
This is my current routine which seems to be working:
7am - 7oz bottle followed by half a weetabix or porridge
11:45 - Big, big lunch (7 or 8 cubes of meat, potato and veg or a whole 7month+ jar of HIPP followed by a fruit pot or petit filous
2:30-3pm - 4oz bottle or a drink of ribina
4:30pm - small tea - half jar of HIPP or a fruit pot mixed with custard or cheese on toast fingers with a yogurt etc
7pm - (in her room when she is sleepy) 7oz bottle
Tonight she refused to drink bedtime bottle again but she had a whole jar of food for tea so I'm guessing she's still full! If she wakes later this evening I'll try her again but 9/10 she'll just sleep thru regardless and just be extra hungry for breakfast!
You should definately try what you suggest and give his tea later to see him thru but I would recommend always at least offering him a bedtime bottle even if you are sure he'll refuse it. My dd has surprised me often by drinking or eating loads when I'm convinced she'll say no!
It will most likely come back in time, just try different timings and keep offering him a bedtime drink. If you can get him to reduce his midday bottle, thats the one Gina says to cut out next, not the bedtime one so try to get him to go that way if possible.
