I tried the mad clapping at Orville and it worked!

I clapped and then spoke to him until he clapped back and I went to the money island. Got about 50,000 bells!

Yes it's the delight emotion. I spoke to him and then said I didn't want to fly and then did delight. Repeated about 10 times and eventually he clapped back. I was so excited that I just said I wanted to fly that time.

Before then sometimes he looked pleased, sometimes he didn't react at all.

I read about the 'clap at Orville' thing on Twitter a couple of days ago. I tried it out. Got a few normal islands, but got eventually got the bell island and non-native fruit one.

I've not had tarantula island yet. I could really do with a visit to that one as I'm AC broke, more or less!

Does everyone have diva to start with on their island? If so, anyone else agree she is a bit of a cow?

I had Diva in my New Leaf town for a while. I find that the Uchi personality type can be a bit grating to begin with.

DD1 has Diva on her island. She seems to love her but DD can be irritating as hell anyway (I loves her really).

Haha! She just seems to moan when you dare to talk to her and that's about it, I'm still not really sure what I am doing yet, still collecting stuff for the museum. Is it possible to go to random islands?

@Marieo yes, use the Nook terminal in the guest services tent/building. Redeem nook miles for a Nook miles ticket and take it to the airport. You'll land on a mystery island.
