Luxury sea view hotel with pool- south coast

Looking for a luxury sea view hotel on the South Coast, with pool, to celebrate a family birthday. Any ideas? Most hotels I’ve looked at are a bit dated, or have no pool, or get average trip advisor ratings. We need 5 rooms for 11 people. Ideally looking in Poole area, or similar ie. not as far as Devon/Cornwall or too far into East Sussex. Thanks.

Southampton Harbour Hotel, modern hotel, lovely rooms, small spa with pool. Great service. Would recommend, we stayed to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary.

Thanks. Looks perfect but ££££ for 5 rooms.

You did say luxury hotel, sea view and a pool. They don’t come cheap in this country,

Fivemoreminutes1 · 24/07/2022 10:03

I think any luxury hotel is going to be ££££ for 5 rooms

QueSyrahSyrah · 24/07/2022 10:22

Luxury + sea view + pool = £££££

If you're on a budget OP you'll probably have to rethink at least one of those requirements.

abovedecknotbelow · 24/07/2022 10:23

What's your budget?

Ariela · 24/07/2022 10:34

I like The Imperial in Torquay, wonderfully old-fashioned, great sea views and a decent sized pool.

Always fancied staying at Burgh Island though.

LadyJGrey · 24/07/2022 10:37

I’d love to stay at Burgh Island - my dream is to hire the whole place! (#lotterywin!)

courtrai · 24/07/2022 10:38

For a group that size have you considered a house rental?

Thanks. Looks perfect but ££££ for 5 rooms.

Maybe helpful to give people an idea of the budget then, as your requirements do suggest that you’re prepared to pay ££££!

Lurleene · 24/07/2022 10:59

Have you looked at this one?Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott

Lurleene · 24/07/2022 11:11

Actually ignore me, despite knowing there definitely was a pool there I can't see mention of it on the website. Perhaps it has been removed sorry.

There are quite a few hotels with pools in Bournemouth, for a seaview you need to be looking on the Eastcliff or Westcliff.

Els1e · 24/07/2022 11:12

Coming on to say Imperial Hotel, Torquay or Burgh Island. I’ve only had lunch at Burgh Island but it’s one of my dreams to stay there. However, it will be costly. Do you have a budget in mind?

Pearl97 · 24/07/2022 11:14

@Lurleene The pool is still at the Bournemouth Marriott. Is it an outdoor pool you are looking for? What is your budget?

ChessieFL · 24/07/2022 11:47

Torquay is no good, the OP says she doesn’t want to go as far as Devon/Cornwall. Otherwise I agree The Imperial would be perfect, I came on to recommend that myself until I read the OP!

chilliesandspices · 24/07/2022 12:25

For 5 bedrooms, I'd be looking at a fancy rental property with its own swimming pool.

User0610134049 · 24/07/2022 12:26

Agree about the rental

and lol about you saying ones you’ve looked at are a bit dated, have no pool etc but finding that nice luxury hotels are actually £££. No kidding! 😆

newmum1976 · 24/07/2022 13:30

Think I may be a bit out of touch but I was thinking £400 or £500 per night per room not £900. We might have to ditch the pool. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I’ve stayed at burgh island a few times. It’s fantastic but I hate to imagine how much it costs nowadays. Worth it for a splurge though!

cyclamenqueen · 24/07/2022 13:40

The Gallivant

TuxedoJunction · 24/07/2022 13:40

Highly recommend the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne - indoor and outdoor pool. It’s about £300-£350 per night. Might be too far into East Sussex though for you.

Winkydink · 24/07/2022 13:44

For a budget of £2500/night you could get an absolutely amazing rental house with a pool

newmum1976 · 24/07/2022 13:49

We did consider a rental, but quickly realised that my partner and I would be the only people lifting a finger (his family not
mine), so not keen.
