Time for another spooky stories thread?

I know how much I enjoyed reading previous scary story threads so thought I'd start another and start with my own.

Now I always thought I had imagined this but after meeting up with my sister last week and getting on to this found out she remembers this too.

We both had a friend in the village who lived in a long house with an old barn out back, looked fairly normal had a ladder in the middle which took you up to the top level and the roof had a roof light window in it. Anyway this friend told us it was haunted and we thought she was having us on until she knocked on the door and an almighty bang answered, this kept happening. Then once it had stopped stuff started flying out of the roof window! Old sacks and old stove kettles etc! We were so scared but went in and no one was in there just totally empty. We then went in the house and said to friends mum and she said it must have been her dad but her dad was in the living room!

Needless to say I've never forgotten this and my sister obviously hasn't either.

So now I've started anyone else want to add any??

On Monday morning this week, I put ballet pump shoes from wardrobe to side of bed to wear to work.

Went to bathroom to shower etc, came back into bedroom and screeched to a halt. My shoes had been turned upside down, soles up, neatly together. The cat was laying under the bed near the shoes and was totally unconcerned. (I live alone with my cat so it was not someone playing a trick)

I wondered if she had rushed out from under the bed ? she had been playing madly minutes earlier, dashing around ? so I tried swiping them and could not make them flip over, only succeeded in moving them across the floor randomly.

I went downstairs and dowsed with my crystal, it confirmed there were spirits in the house, but when I asked if the house spirits had moved my shoes it stopped circling and just hung totally still.

When I got home from work I tried to replicate the upside down shoes by picking them up and putting down/throwing/dropping ? only managed once to get shoe upside down and only one, the other rolled away.

I got my crystal and dowsed where the shoes had been, I got the following through asking a series of questions: a teenage boy and girl under 10 were spirits who moved them, the girl died either on the land beneath the house or in it (house is only max 45 yrs old, I have lived here for 20 years), she was 10 yrs or under. The boy did not die in or under the house. They meant no harm, only mischief and they would not be back again that night.

I decided to dowse my bed and found a few energy pockets which I cleared with the crystal and left an amethyst to finish the cleansing. When I went to bed, I felt like something was missing (energy pockets?) and felt very peaceful and calm. Slept well, and finally the vivid and weird dreams I had had the past few days stopped.

This is not the first time something has been ?placed? in my house!

I would really like to know what happened, I keep thinking maybe I put them upside down ? but I picked them up by hooking my fingers into the heel bit and just dropped them by the side of the bed, I would never put my shoes upside down on purpose - no reason to!

What is dowse-ing?

99percentchocolate · 30/09/2015 13:51

Does anybody else remember the threads a year or two ago where the OP ran a business which moved to new premises in an old building and strange things started happening? Eg writing on the walls, something in the attic, spotting someone in the window, etc. She had psychics in and everything. I was absolutely hooked and often wonder what happened next.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 30/09/2015 13:56

I think she admitted it was all made up.

MyNameIsRonnieFuckingPickering · 30/09/2015 13:57

No she didn't!

She came back a few months ago and maintained it was all true. She said she'd moved out of the offices though.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 30/09/2015 13:59

Ah, I probably read people speculating it was made up then. I have a memory like a goldfish.

99percentchocolate · 30/09/2015 14:02

Ooh thank you Ronnie (love the name btw)

Medjuel · 30/09/2015 14:03

MrsB

Dowsing is when you hold a crystal on a chain (like a pendulum) and ask it questions, firstly establishing what its response is for yes and no. You can also use it to detect energy pockets, and clear the energy.

Hope that helps
Medj

Hotpatootietimewarp · 30/09/2015 14:05

Yes I remember that and thought it had been made up to but do remember the OP coming back and saying it was true.

Would be great if she could come here and retell it and update

Medjuel · 30/09/2015 14:11

MrsB - dowsing - I used a crystal on a short length of chain, you establish what its yes and no response is then ask a series of questions to which it should respond. You can also use it to detect energy pockets and to clear energy blockages.

ForFlipSakes · 30/09/2015 14:11

Hairballs, if I was you're spirit/ghost/whatever I'd be like:"Fuck it, I've given the photo back twice already. You're on your own finding it this time" Grin

Aha! Here is the thread where haunted office woman returns.

Thanks for that!

ItsMyFuckingWedding · 30/09/2015 15:02

That's me. I came out of hiding when someone else made up a similar NN to my old one and said it wasn't true (at least that is what I gathered)

I'm now totally addicted to woo threads

99percentchocolate · 30/09/2015 15:05

It'smy - I'm so glad you popped up, I was riveted by those threads. No idea how you managed to work there day in day out. Have you heard anything about the building since?

MyNameIsRonnieFuckingPickering · 30/09/2015 15:06

I'm going to claim that my powers of woo drew you to this thread! Grin

dustarr73 · 30/09/2015 15:21

Another one,ds 5 was about 18 months old,as i said earlier we sleep downstairs.Even though at this time it was on a pull out sofa. There was a space behind us on the sofa cause it was to hard to sleep on.Anyway dp woke up and seen ds behind us,so he goes to grab him.He shrinks back,so dp so to grab him again. And he just disappears. He said it was like mist.

He then wakes me up and tells me the story, sends me up to check[cause hes to much of a wuss].Ds sound asleep in his cot.

He says it was like he caught him looking at us and he then just faded.Hes not anyway woo.

ItsMyFuckingWedding · 30/09/2015 15:38

Other people in the building have had similar experiences and there was talk from another tenant of calling a paranormal expert in, also talk of going to the paper.

Oddly I met someone recently that lived in a flat adjacent to the building and she moved out and went to DP to talk about renting another property(he is a letting no agent) when he asked why she was moving she said the building used to make her feel unwell when she looked at it and she could see it from her bedroom window - she was very woo though.

It still makes me feel uncomfortable thinking about it.

MissMarpleCat · 30/09/2015 15:43

It sounds like there was something nasty in that building ItsMyFuckingWedding Shock

99percentchocolate · 30/09/2015 15:56

Itsmyfuckingwedding - it sounded absolutely terrifying, no wonder the woman wanted to move too.

Thought of another one which I had completely forgotten. Was downstairs in the house on my own (not this house) one night and heard little footsteps running across the bedroom floor directly above my head. Didn't think anything of it we have cats. Then I realised that all three cats were in the room with me. Could still hear footsteps running around in that bedroom, then heard them run into my bedroom, and then heard the airing cupboard door go in the bathroom. I froze. When I got my senses together I legged out of the room and out of the front door. Front door was in the hallway and at the top of the stairs was the bathroom. Whilst I was letting myself out the cats all ran to the bottom of the stairs and started hissing. I didn't look to see what at. Ran to my next door neighbours house and asked them to let me in for a while. Whilst I was telling him about the noises I could hear thumps and bangs coming through the wall from my house.
He misunderstood and thought I was saying there was a burglar in the house so came over and had a look. Noone in the house bar us and the cats. All the windows were closed too so couldn't have been another cat or other animal sneaking in.
I remember sitting in that house sobbing because I was so scared for over an hour before DP came home.

MrsB1988 · 30/09/2015 16:07

Thanks medjuel Smile

Hotpatootietimewarp · 30/09/2015 16:19

its my so glad you've come to my thread! Would you mind recounting what happened? My memory is a bit shady of exactly what happened but I do remember the person trying to make out it was fake.

OP posts:
WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 30/09/2015 16:58

Oh that explains why I thought I'd seen a post saying it was untrue fuckingwedding

ItsMyFuckingWedding · 30/09/2015 17:10

It was such a miserable period of my life it was terrifying.

We moved into the new office and pretty quickly realised all was not as it should be. Motion sensors were going off when they shouldn't, there was thumping from the empty rooms upstairs, the walls were not written on but the actual paint scratched off, pebbles were thrown, the staircase to get into the building was freezing and my dog refused to go in and DD who was 2 at the time kept saying 'man'. Not one person would stay in the office alone and even went to the toilet in pairs. We had a priest in and also some lovely ladies to cleanse the rooms from a more woo standpoint. It all seemed to calm down and then more tenants moved in. We didn't notice anything at first as there were than natural noises of movement etc upstairs but it all reared its head again and we moved out.

To type it all out would take hours and I'm making dinner, sorry!

dustarr73 · 30/09/2015 17:36

Does anybody think it could be down to them. That maybe you "draw" them to you.
