You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and do wear a mask.

Okay I mean the 8th and not the Roman date but you guys get the gist.

I have booked my jab through the nhs website during school time just because I can and I wanted the earliest day I could get. Decided to put myself first! 💪🏻

How soon is your jab staff. I booked mine for a Sunday because that's the first date they had available. It's in the Easter holidays.

Bananasaretheonlyfruit · 06/03/2021 13:21

Hi there.
What do you think of my new name?
Am wondering whether I should have made it Gin based?
CallmeHendricks?

MsAwesomeDragon · 06/03/2021 13:23

Aha, I think I've guessed who you are now bananas. I always get confused with name changes unless they're on an obvious theme. If you change your name I'll accept you as a new friend rather than an old one.

JanFebAnyMonth · 06/03/2021 13:24

Thanks staff and love the title.

motherrunner · 06/03/2021 13:25

Thanks @StaffRepFeistyClub. Good news about the jab!

motherrunner · 06/03/2021 13:27

@JanFebAnyMonth

Thanks staff and love the title.
Me too. Let the ‘fun’ and games begin!

I need to complete my online training to become a tester before Monday. Is it going to be one of those ones where I’ll be asked questions at the end to ‘pass’ to get my certificate (which I need to print out and take with me Monday).

Piggywaspushed · 06/03/2021 13:28

Yay! Thanks staff.

The Times today reports on the pressure groups trying to spread misinformation and fears about masks and tests. It doesn't name the group. We all know it's U4T who you use for rent a quote shite Times! Just own it!

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 06/03/2021 13:29

Disappointed by Henman. Man who lives in massive house miles from anywhere, kids in private school. Completely insulated from reality.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 06/03/2021 13:31

Advice.

Don't end up on a thread about whether or not kids should wear masks in school. You'll come across some of the angriest and lowest IQ folk in the country and it'll get your day off to bad start.

Haha!

Also do not take a sledgehammer to work to create your own ventilation.
Piggywaspushed · 06/03/2021 13:34

Actually, looking at the awful U4T letter, they have got remarkably few public figures to sign it. Only one who admits to being a teacher (the awful David Perks). Robinson is so self important he says he is a political adviser. Le Tiss and Lee Hurst both have dubious views : Lee Hurst in particular is very right wing.

They're monsters, U4T.

noblegiraffe · 06/03/2021 13:34

Where is that quote from Rule?

Why has this been painted as a ‘step down’? He should be applauded!

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 06/03/2021 13:38

Sim Crowther - just a teacher on Twitter.

motherrunner · 06/03/2021 13:38

@Piggywaspushed Yes. Militant ideas disguised as ‘funnies’.

Piggywaspushed · 06/03/2021 13:38

Explains why he went on Dancing On Ice then. One last ditch attempt to avoid teaching Grin

StaffRepFeistyClub · 06/03/2021 13:40

Booked in for 16 March at one of the big vac centres. I thought fuck it I am not waiting for a convenient centre or time to suit my timetable. The UFTtwats and the muppet known as Gav have killed off that goodwill

Times needs to call out UFTtwat for their general shitty attitude towards school staff.

BBC live news - the focus is all on testing. If I’m missing 6 hours of Yr 11 and 3 hours of Yr 13 to pass swabs to kids this week, it had better bloody stay in place!

😆 I always picture him as ‘cute’ and want to pinch his cheeks. He’s 2 years older than me 😂
motherrunner · 06/03/2021 13:44

Don’t feel guilty @StaffRepFeistyClub. When I can book (in the far distant future), I’ll grab my first opportunity.

I know and he went to schol with Alan Carr!! Who knew?? You'd think Carr had at least 5 years on him.

PumpkinPie2016 · 06/03/2021 13:45

Thanks staff

I hope everyone is well. A few of my team seem a bit reluctant about coming back into school on Monday Sad hoping it will settle down once we get into it.

I'm feeling quite good today as I went for a run this morning Grin been for a short walk to the park with DS too.

I am looking forward to seeing my students, but starting to feel the pressure about collecting further evidence to support CAGs. My Y11s are a foundation group and they have made a lot of progress since September but some could do with demonstrating more before we do our final 'mocks' sometime after Easter.
