You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Well in the big scheme of things not too bad I guess but half at home and half at school. Argh! I know some of you have bee doing it since September- God how are we going to get to December?!?!?

That sounds really tough. I hope it doesn't carry on for too long, or gets easier to manage with practice.

My HT has now put a notice up in the staffroom saying she feels it's time for us to be wearing masks in communal areas (primary). She says it's our personal choice, however, but there are signs up outside the office and we can't enter there without them.

Anyone getting a whiff of Madrid Sun, in a fishy kind of way?

At what point do I give up and accept that my life right now is work and sleep? Although the worry is that with sleeping as much as I am and on my antidepressants I still feel like shit.

It might be worth getting your ears checked. I walk into a lot of things (migraines) and had mine checked just in case it was an inner ear thing. Or it’s exhaustion. Either way, hope you’re ok.

This was the fault of a slippery floor so definitely not my ears or even my stupidity. accident book will be filled in tomorrow.

I was carrying a bag, thankfully which broke my fall. If my special mug had been broken I would still be crying.

Oh here you are! I had a moan about stupid colleagues on the other thread but I’ve had a nice cup of tea and DS made me laugh with silly teenage humour so I’m totally over it now

Bloody hell piggy you’re in the wars at the moment! I only have wet blue paper towel to offer though, being Primary.

Saw a Lockdown Hair Style today that was so phenomenal I didn’t recognise the child. Apparently he likes it and is now refusing to have it cut, even when barbers open again.

I hope you're ok piggy. Is your dh the type to give sympathy and TLC? Mine would probably laugh at me, but I hear some people show concern. Do take care of yourself.

My day was fine. I even got my diabetes test results back and they've gone way down from where they were 😁 I've got my hbac1 down to 50, which is miles better than the 68 in June. Haven't spoken to the nurse yet, but I'm pretty pleased with myself (she'd better be proud of me too! I put a lot of effort into getting those sugars down!)

I hope you're okay piggy and others, especially the poster with a seriously ill pupil.
