You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom. Close the door quietly on your way out

Agreed. Might even let @Miles at the secret gin stash.

MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 20:49

I've got some nice garnishes if miles wants a fancy gin. I'm knocking back Aldi's finest like it's going out of fashion.

TaxTheRatFarms · 29/08/2020 20:52

I reported a fuckton of posts on the dfe thread and I think some got deleted, but I also flagged Miles’s brilliant post and told them that this is what teachers are having to deal with at a time when we are already stressed to bits, and why are these posts allowed to happen/stay up when they are at risk of damaging teachers’ mental health.

They replied to one of my rants when I reported a post, saying they don’t have the resources to look at every thread so we need to keep reporting posts and they will delete those that break the talk guidelines. So I guess we just have to keep flagging them up relentlessly.

SaltyAndFresh · 29/08/2020 20:59

Shall we agree collectively to just report all TB posts then? MN might be more inclined to address it if it happens every time.

MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 20:59

@SaltyAndFresh I'm looking forward to isthisadagger screaming in the dfe thread

Yes. I don't so much object to people moaning in general but some of them are so vicious and personal. I reported someone on the work email thread for posting about us hijacking threads and it was taken down. I assume they think we should all stay in our cupboards.
Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2020 21:01

I may have just nudged that.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 29/08/2020 21:04

Thanks for the invite!

I'm really glad I helped. I'm so, so sick of reading the shit that's spouted about you all.

Lots of my friends are dedicated, wonderful teachers (who became my friends after teaching my kids), and I keep seeing their faces in my minds eye whenever someone writes something nasty.

Anyway, I'm not a teacher, so won't butt in, but I will eat my biscuit.

Thanks & Gin for you all.

MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 21:05

Nice work

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2020 21:08

Thanks jupp!

Legend!

MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 21:09

Hi Miles
Anyone who brings gin to the staffroom is more than welcome.

cheesecurdsandgravy · 29/08/2020 21:12

What does TB stand for?

twat badger

MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 21:13

Teacher basher.
Almost but not quite the same as fuckwit and wankbadger.

Kidneybingo · 29/08/2020 21:19

@StaffAssociationRepresentative

They need us more than we need them...

My resolution for this academic year is not to spend my own money on resources. (after all we cant share stuff)

Me too. It's hard though!
SaltyAndFresh · 29/08/2020 21:20

I have bought stuff for me to use in the classroom but after the response I had from management about them supplying equipment to pupils I won't be bothering this year.
MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 21:24

I've bought myself a subscription to the OED and I'll be regularly replenishing my gin supply. That's it.

SaltyAndFresh · 29/08/2020 21:25

I've just reported the one by Daphinse as teacher hate speech Grin

MrsHamlet · 29/08/2020 21:26

I reported it as a vicious attack on the profession 😂
FrippEnos · 29/08/2020 21:28

I reported it as lies.

It will be interesting to see what they have to do with all the quotes.

SaltyAndFresh · 29/08/2020 21:28

By the way, I had a Covid drive through test yesterday at 3 (bit of a cough) and got a negative tonight at 9. I live in the arse end of nowhere which might make a difference with availability.

WhenSheWasBad · 29/08/2020 21:29

I’ve branches out from gin. Also partaking of rum.

I’m just remembering the lessons I taught to year 10 in June & July. There were only 9 of them in a classroom but it was honestly a nightmare trying to stay in one place.

They ask for help and I was just itching to have a quick glance at their work. I’m going to find distancing really hard as it feels unnatural.

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2020 21:30

They may just have had a lot of reports!!

Sounds like a good plan! And they (TBs) can hardly complain about it being unfair, as if they’re not talking shite they won’t get deleted Smile

Love reporting it as teacher hate speech and a vicious attack on the profession Grin

And thank you Miles for compiling all the lunacy on that thread! Truly doing god’s* work.

(God probably being one of the stuffed-in-cupboard maths teachers!)

Miles!!! have all the biscuits. Honestly I nearly cried when you started your list, having waded through the shit on that thread. Felt like fresh troops riding to a flagging army.

Today has not been a great day, it’s all getting a bit close.
