CS told People he always wears some cuff links that Diana gave him, he then segues into Rosie’s death and says he told her parents he was wearing the Diana cufflinks and then tells People ‘Diana’s memory gives comfort to people even now”

It makes no sense, if he wears them all the time then why tell Rosie’s parents - it wasn’t some touching remembrance moment. I can’t imagine a situation in which I as the parent in that situation could possibly take any comfort in that knowledge and just seems unnecessary and a bit shoe-horned in to the interview and just distasteful

I'm surprised Meghan wasn't at the Wellchild awards tonight, she normally never misses the opportunity for a photo op.

I'd say that is so far removed from reality I question his thought process. Why he would think that anyone would find that a comfort is beyond me, but then to tell people about it so he clearly expects to make him appear really empathetic and thoughtful sends me totally confused.

If I'd said that it would be a kick-the-sheets embarrassment when I remembered how I'd burbled rubbish when someone was grieving and I definitely would not have wanted anyone else to know.

If it was my daughter (God forbid) and he expected me to be comforted by wearing some cufflinks I'd want to spit in his face.

Not even 'People' magazine are offering excuses for Meghan's latest absence by her darling husband's side. Normally I woudn't consider Well Child a 'plus one' type of event, but she attended both years when she was a working royal. It's really odd that she's keeping such a low profile now. As we were discussing, either she's not in the country or there is some reason she doesn't want to be seen. I doubt it's because she can't bear to leave the children for an evening.

As for the ridiculous People rag, I don't suppose they know any more about what's really going on than the rest of us, so avoiding too much comment on where Meghan is may well be the better choice, especially if neither H nor M are now briefing them

They did print that all four came back to the UK though, and personally I wouldn't have risked even that

I think expecting any of these people to behave "normally" is foolish tbh.
They aren't normal, by any stretch of the imagination.
