I am reminded of my aunt who was a social worker. She always said that adults need to love the children more than they hate their in-laws. And sometimes life is incredibly hurtful and unfair, but to carry forward the pain into the next generation does not do anything to alter the past and can damage future generations.

IMHO, Charles Spencer needs to accept that his two nephews have only one parent left. And that whatever hurt happened between his sister and her then husband can never be undone. And that his sister, while alive and actively fighting with her husband stated that KC3 was a good father to her boys.

Poisoning the relationship between his nephews and their father is not helping any matters. Doing it for money...that is truly reprehensible.

Very wise.

So did I!

I think Harry has decided to ignore everything he was told in the Sandringham agreement and instead wants to pretend that he is still fully royal, he'll never really accept his new status!

He probably thinks it's still 2019

I think if he turned up somewhere on Remembrance Sunday in uniform that might actually be the final straw for KC3. And, meanly, I'm pleased that it must absolutely kill him that he can't do that.

GroundCloves · Today 16:23

How many illegitimate children have been announced? I will be disappointed if there are less than half a dozen between them all.

Just looking at the pics of Harry at the Invictus awards do last night. What are all those medals on his shoulder and around his neck? I thought he'd had his military honorifics stripped?

Doesn't take much to find out they are his personal medals he has been given and can wear as he pleases. Guess you will now be saying why was he given them too as you obviously won't want to accept he deserved them as much as anyone else who gets given them.

Mylovelygreendress · Today 16:27

Was Harry introduced as HRH at invictus awards event? I read somewhere that he was but can’t find it now !

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 16:28

jeffgoldblum · Today 16:12

I’ve only heard the rumours about Edward being gay ….which apparently some apparently still believe now! 😬

I had an Aunt who was very into the Royal family. I don't know if the rumour was true but it definitely wasn't about Charles.

The one around his neck has been explained already the other ones are an Afghan campaign medal and jubilee medals from the queen.

That's right, I think the one round his neck was awarded by the late Queen for services to the Royal Family.
KCRVO? Is that right?

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 16:31

Harry can't wear a uniform at any event. It isn't allowed for anyone.

Aprilfountain · Today 16:33

Poor ol' Haz is pulling out every stop he can to prove that he's still a senior royal, he's not and never will be again, he's just making himself look silly at this point.

It takes more than I'm willing to give 💁
I don't actually give a shit what medals they are or what they're for, I was just alarmed to see military medals worn by a man who seemingly did not much during his time in the army. And I do internally raise an eyebrow at the balls of a man who was awarded a Jubilee medal (I think that was one of them, now that my memory is jogged?) in front of men and woman who have lost limbs in the line of active duty. Guessing from your post you'd want to educate me on what the Jubilee medal represents and what Harry will have had to have done to earn it?

I believe he is not allowed to wear uniform at ceremonial events as he is neither a serving member of the armed forces nor a working member of the Royal Family. But decorations are ok for a military event.

Though he's got some bloody brass neck wearing the neck cross - it's for a Knight Grand Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, awarded for personal services to the Sovereign (in practice I believe only the family get the top gongs). Awarded to him by QEII, whose latter years he did his best to bugger up, and now relates to his father, in whose side he has been an enormous thorn for the last 8 years.

It reminds me of a Dad's Army episode. Where there is a function and medals have to be worn. But Captain Mainwaring has no medals and tries to get the order cancelled.

But in this case, it is reversed. It is Harry who says medals to be worn, because that means he can wear his neck piece. I think they all have to wear medals so he can wear that, as a sort of Royal badge of office. Because none of the other Vets will have one of them. And if there are any vets who do have a neck award, I bet they did not get invites.

Or maybe it is his wife that insists on medals be worn. For reasons above ?

Williaminagingerwig · Today 16:34

Three of his medals are the Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals.

So does this potentially mean that when Diana said that famous line ‘there was 3 of us in this marriage’, she wasn’t talking about Camilla after all.

I think it’s fairly well known that Ruby Wax came up with that line which illustrates how stage managed the PR was for and by Diana

One of his medals is the Afghan Campaign medal. The rest were awarded by the late Queen. Three Jubilee medals and the one around his neck KCRVO is for services to the monarch.
