She’s used the kids as an excuse before when she hasn’t wanted to go with him somewhere. Can’t remember the events but said the kids were ill so she stayed home.

I’ve done this too to get out of my DH work things, or to escape from them early. We don’t have a nanny though. Sadly they are too old for that now.(not pretending they are ill though, just lack of babysitter normally)

BemusedAmerican · Today 11:43

@jeffgoldblum Don't let them chase you away. Just woke up and saw the post removals!

Neil Sean, who has been right quite a bit recently, posted a really obscure video last night implying that something big is coming up for HAM. He is careful to avoid being sued but it was thought - provoking.

Also, last week I posted links about HAM to articles by The Hill reporter Mark Toth dating back to 2024 linking HAM to UK destabilizing. Over the past years, I've thought he was right. Google his name and Prince Harry to read them.

When I saw the scene online where Diana told CS that KC was in love with his valet, I almost died laughing. Both Diana and CS were deranged!

Also, you can watch Fox News on YouTube. I don't - I think they are very biased but that's me.

Why does she need to be there at all? It's nothing to do with her! Also why on earth would small children want to be dragged along to that? It would be so boring and bewildering for them.

Yes. Could be due to terrible optics at last Ingriftus, she decided it best she stays away. However, HAM never usually do what's best for anyone/anything else but each other

The Duchies do (own much of the UK). The Monarch and Heir benefit from the yield, but don't control the source

The exact details of how the Duchies are owned always fry my brain, @Rhaidimiddim - not least because the RF deliberately keep them opaque - but it's said that William's selling 20% of the Duchy of Cornwall for housing and I'm not sure how this chimes with claims that the RF can't sell the actual assets?

Thanks sausage and others for the kind words, I appreciate it , I’m probably just tired and disillusioned this morning, ignore me , I’m not a flouncer normally and I’m sure after a second cup of tea might feel more energised ❤️

Tea always solves a lot, jeff, but please don't let the snipers disillusion you.
I'm another who'd sorely miss your posts and frankly you'd be a huge loss to the forum if we didn't have you any more Flowers

Any property transactions over £500k value have to be approved by the Treasury. There is also legislation to ensure that such changes must be to the long-term benefit of the Duchy (as it is to provide an income for future heirs).

The proceeds of any capital transaction do not go to the Duke of Cornwall but back into the Duchy.

The Duke of Cornwall receives an income from the profit each year.

Whilst there does seem to be good evidence of attempts to destabilise countries in the West using social media, I agree with you that linking Soros to them is strange. I have seen no evidence that he is involved in things like this although he is often accused of being behind, well quite a lot of things.

The thing is, more than one billionaire can be working to control us at the same time. They can even do similar things for very different reasons.

Destabilisation is an opportunity to them, the idea that the common people have the right to decide for themselves or to not be the playthings of their grand world desires just isn't something that occurs to them.

You simply can't be a good person and be a billionaire. It's not possible, because it means deciding that retaining your billions is more important than redistributing your vastly excessive resources to those who are less fortunate and STILL be a hundred-millionaire.

The only exception, bizarrely, is the royal family - because they're in a weird gilded cage where they exchange freedom for luxury. I don't know if it justifies them being billionaires, but it is, to a degree, a necessary part of the contract, and the impression given to others.

They probably attended because it is advantageous to them personally to be there and to be involved in Invictus as an organisation. It's unlikely to be because they like the idiot figurehead

I'm not even sure how being involved in Invictus can be said to be a positive any more, AngelineFibres, but maybe they see it differently

It's absolutely not my world, but I have to say I'm disappointed and thought more of military integrity than that

Some do redistribute billions to ‘good causes’ but that can be much worse than simply indulging in yachts and eating gold-plated truffle. Their ‘good cause’ will be imposing their morality/ideology/crackpot ideas on the rest of us.

This is one of the worst updates to the app on iPhone! , you can no longer cut and paste sections of posts!! , I have no idea how they did it but it’s no longer functional and overrides my phones cut and paste too!!! 😡

It’s slightly faffy but I copy text which means the whole thing copies then delete all but then it I wanted to quote.

There's an old saying in the mil that you were "saluting the rank, not the individual" and I think that would have applied here.

Serving military ordered to have attended would have held their collective noses and got on with it....

Why though? Why do you think these billionaires need to "control us" ?

The reason well known donors donate are known. The Kochs donated because they wanted a pro low tax guv. Adelson was a pro Israel conservative. Soros pro social justice. Gates anti malaria and disease. Theil has some strange Christian Nationalism going on.

Who are these billionaires who want to destroy the Royals ? It's not as if Republicans need to hide in the dark. And how can anyone get control over everyone by stirring up the Royals ?

BasiliskStare · Today 12:19

I'm going to stick my neck out and say something which may be unpopular. CS's book hasn't been published yet. There has been ( thus far I have seen , there maybe more ) one excerpt in the DM who are of course for commercial reasons going to publish the more salacious bits. I do think though before anyone has actually read the whole it's a bit premature to give an opinion on it ( the text - suspected motives behind it fair play ) So eg the DM headline was Diana said KC had an affair with his valet. Even in the same paragraph CS said that sounded unbelievable (paraphrase ) . Now , do I think the motives behind this book are mercenary , shoddy yes - do I think there is going to be a great deal of CS recollections which either can't be proven or don't fall under libel etc - yes . I don't think the book can be dismissed as vile until the entirety of it is known. I'm not saying it won't be. It doesn't look good thus far 😂 But re the actual text itself , I'm reserving judgment until I have read the whole thing which puts the headline fodder in context.

Yes, some deeply unpleasant undercurrents in the Spencer family. Makes me feel a bit more sorry for Diana, who was dealt a bad hand in various ways. The 'queen fancied my dad' story really does jump the shark though. And I don't find the Charles (3) comments plausible.

Earl Spencer does seem to like hanging out his family's dirty laundry doesn't he ? He's no gentleman for sure.

Well, quite. There's something fundamental to the fact that by choosing your causes, you are choosing - and often controlling - how the money is spent. Working in the charity sector infuriates me, with millionaires and billionaires setting all sorts of hoops and conditions to spending.

Let alone the exploitation required to become a billionaire in the first place!

Williaminagingerwig · Today 12:31

Old Spencer had a very high opinion of himself so it wouldn't surprise me if he claimed this to his family. I seem to recall that he was engaged to marry Ann Coke who became Lady Glenconner, P Margaret's Lady in Waiting, but there were rumours about some genetic deficiency in her family and his father banned the marriage.

Yes! The Spencers had massive problems. Diana's disorders were there before marriage. However, they were incredibly elitist as a family - and still are. Diana used to refer to her in laws as "the Germans" and would frequently remind them that her lineage was longer and better.

That one is really really odd. Everyone knows that the late Queen met Philip in her midteens and was besotted from then on. To suggest she was attracted to Earl Spencer later is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the boringly predictable accusations about Charles and another individual.

Yes, it's a really odd anecdote to include, I've now seen that he's claimed the Queen (via Robert Fellowes) offered to reinstate Diana's HRH on the day of the funeral.

Again, another pretty unbelievable statement, that neither now Fellowes or the Queen can confirm. I do find it highly unlikely, as it was Charles who drove for Diana to get a State style funeral, and the late Queen has never, to my knowledge, done that kind of performative display.

Charles Spencer may find this book blows up his whole credibility. I've seen several quotes from people who have known him for years and years, saying he never mentioned anything like this at all previously, never even hinted at anything similar.

This could be like Spare imploding on HaM, on steroids.

I see the thread went a bit sideways overnight!

It has been a long recognised feature of other boards that disruptors appear overnight when monitoring is reduced and America is awake.

I suspect more likely to be one glass of wine too many!

I wonder if some of Spencer's own issues are at the root of this. He's on marriage no4, not invited to the weddings of two of his daughters, who knows.
He's not exactly been a great husband and Dad.

Yet more appreciation from me for someone who's genuinely in a position to know, notimagain Flowers

The point about honouring the rank rather than the person makes perfect sense, but it's certainly not how Harry will regard it and I still think the services would do better to take a big step backwards from this farce - especially when other military charities are available

It will be interesting to see if they keep silent, which I think they should. We all saw Charles on camera at the time and I find it very hard to believe that he was totally different in private.

I agree. He looked broken.
