Whatever happens with Harry will be a joint endeavour between the palace and Cabinet Office. Harry's comments ate about more than politics. They are attacks on the machinery of state, which, unlike politics, is not transient.

We'll never know for sure, but I find it hard to believe the last two weeks' onslaught on the monarchy has not been orchestrated by Uncle Charles and Harry. They are jointly invested in wounding and, preferably assassinating the monarchy, including the UK's head of state. Serious stuff.

He could do with a bit of eye cream, but looks happy enough.

I wonder why Meghan isn't there? It looks like a fairly secluded location with an invited guestlist, so I don't think she'd need to fear boos. I don't think she's 'settling in the children' either. That sort of thing has never cramped her style before.

I know the Queen was fond of sprinkling honours over her family, but wonder if Charles thinks an award for "services to the monarch" is still appropriate?

Interesting that it was awarded for services to the British Monarchy… clearly he’s reminding us all what a stellar job he did as a working Royal.

I have changed my username for this thread but have commented on other threads although rarely. My DS1 went to the same university as a member of a European Royal Family. They started in the same year but at different colleges however the colleges were very close together and once a year they had an event where they mingled. They were doing slightly different courses but at times would have had lectures together. In the 3 years that this Royal, senior I think to Harry (they are the heir) my son didn’t see any fuss with regards to security issues and says he wouldn’t be able to point her out in a lineup.

Services like pissing about and refusing to get on the plane with others when she was on her deathbed? Though obviously QE2 won't have been able to predict that at the time.

I see nothing in her at all which shows any indication at all that she puts her children first. Quite the opposite.

I don't know if Charles S and Harry are working together, I suspect not because both of them seem incapable of working well with others, but I do think they are both making the same mistake. They are over playing their hand and instead of criticism landing on their targets it's rebounding into them. Blatant anger and biased attacks is not the way to get your case across. Didn't Charles S learn anything from the fallout with Spare?

I'm not sure that CS and H are all that close, really. But the Spencers have a reputation for being quarrelsome, according to Tina Brown, and the evidence certainly supports her assertion!

It links into the theme of these threads as Harry knew about this book, it’s monetising his mother which he does constantly. No one (much) wants a de rail but we cannot have a separate thread for every thing that happens. The threads generally pull themselves back on track.

This must be awful for William. Diana may have been flawed but she was still his mother and someone he loved a great deal.
