A shiny new thread for September Sussex shenanigans!

Her problem has always been a complete lack of self-awareness (amongst other things).

I think her putting it out made it look like she's in demand? So, it was a complete lie?

They have the perfect opportunity to re-start in UK but appear to making a complete cock of it

I almost feel sorry for her.

She really didn’t need to do very much at all to become well known and well liked as Prince Harry’s wife. If she had kept things classy and played the long game, she could have become very popular in her own right without ever needing to compete with the PoW.

People in the UK tend to love an underdog, but they also respect a keep calm and carry on approach. The constant presentation of herself as a victim diva, despite her privileged circumstances, has predictably not gone down well.

She should have been patient, resilient and embraced the role she was given as the wife of the former spare and sil to the future King and Queen. There was plenty of goodwill and opportunity there and she has been remarkably short sighted to have squandered all that public goodwill.

She hasn’t done it without some payment. It’s certainly raised the profile of the show just as the second series hits - it’s NF also - so expect they asked her to do it.

Personally I doubt this. The cast sounded positively "WTF" about her.

I think MM has her price for silence - she can play the publishers fee off against the RF and ratchet up her pay off from the RF. She’s the more ‘measured’ in public of the two - agree PH is a volatile, loose cannon - but if he is being placated, soothed and distracted by his friends and family and comforted by his culture and community in The Cotswolds he might pipe down - especially if he hasn’t got MM pulling his strings and winding him up anymore.

I don't want to automatically think the worst of people but what kind of berk would say yes if Netflix said "you put out statement saying you're in talks for a role, we'll then deny it and here's a few quid for your trouble "?

If she was considered to have such a positive impact on ratings (doubtful), would they not have just offered her a part?!

Have they denied it? Or was it only MM who said she had to withdraw due to backlash? Guy Richie will be skipping all the way to the bank with the raised profile. This might be a new revenue stream for MM. Didn’t she do it recently with the Carey Mulligan series that no one had ever heard of either?

Not necessary - she’s not a good enough actor but she can accelerate click bait.

Also the will she / won’t she gives this tactic legs for the whole season.

"Backlash" what backlash 2 days after they announce their return and an alleged acting opportunity? The UK was on summer holidays, not many would have picked this "story" up, let alone cared one way or another.

They can’t say anything though. Even if they did know, they would be out of step to say so. It’s a production decision.

She has some unintentional entertainment value, I’ll give her that. Perhaps she could have her own show as a sort of American Mr Bean, or rather Mrs HasBean? Royal Mishaps in Sussex La-la Land. I’d watch that!
