So basically his information is almost a decade out of date?

The Internet suggests he left in 2021 or 2022. So not that long, but yes, definitely not up to date!

Recklessismymiddlename · 30/08/2026 16:58

With my ongoing dizziness far too complicated for me @canklesmctacotits to understand
twill be months before I will be well enough to even begin to understand these shenanigans.
I doubt Harry understands. I wonder if Meghan does.

AcrossthePond55 · 30/08/2026 16:58

As far as HAM and 'security' I'm going to hark back to my PP on 'perks and status' when it comes to expecting or demanding freebies.

It's the same thing.

Harry wants paid for security because he believes that is what he is due as a 'Son of the Monarch'. For him is it proof of his status-based-on-birth as, not simply a member of the RF, but specifically as Charles' son. I'd also throw in a bit of sibling envy too. He truly can't see the valid difference in what W&C and their children get for their security as the line of direct succession vs HAM and his children as, well, as the 'spare' & his family, and a non-working spare & wife as well. All he sees is that what W has, he should have also. I'm sure M abets him in this thinking, too.

For Meghan, once again it's the Hollywood mindset. The bigger the celebrity the better the security. And for true A-list Hollywood Elite, that security is usually paid for by others (a studio, a record company, a talent agency) who want their 'presence' and reputation to boost their own reputations and thus garner more A-list clients. Only B-listers (and lower) actually pay for their own security, usually to try to 'fake it til they make it' and get the 'perk' of paid for security. So for M, having 'paid for security' is to her a marker of status as an A-list celebrity. And we all know that she considers herself A-list, even if the wider world and those whose envy she covets, do not.

As far as I'm concerned their quest for what they believe is due them will never end be it freebies, paid for security, special treatment at schools, or to cut the line at Alton Towers.

How sad it is to be forever unhappy and angry like that. We all of us probably feel we 'deserve' more or 'better' than we have in one way or another. But we generally accept the truth of our lives and live happily with it. Too bad they can't do the same. I just hope they don't 'poison' their children's minds with their same mindset.

I’ve read the comments on that blind @Mylovelygreendress and still don’t get what they are trying to say!

i don’t often read them though so not sure how accurate they are and there is another about Mette-Marit.

Sometimes they are spot on . Alliterate one is Meghan , cuck is Harry and it seems to be about David Wace and Saffron Aldridge plus Epstein .
Not quite sure about the Getty reference .

SqueakyDinosaur · 30/08/2026 17:13

One of the problems is that they have enough money to be able to avoid the consequences of their behaviour in the short to medium term. Fallen out with everyone in the RF? Move to Canada! Fallen out with everyone in Canada? Move to California! Fallen out with everyone in California? Move back to the UK!

I think where the rubber may hit the road is in trying to maintain large, expensive homes in 2 or possibly 3 countries (I don't believe in Portugal). They simply don't have enough income without eating into capital. Certainly not if they're paying for their own security, flights etc.

And his “crime” was that he was persuaded into some rather clunky photos of him supposedly preparing to attend her wedding.

Being measured for a suit, reading a book on the royal family.

It’s hardly child abuse is it?

Not to mention hardly a million miles from M’s own manipulation of the media at the time with faux candid shots.

Her father spent years caring for her when her mother was off nobody knows where, spent lots of money on her education and greatly helped her fledgling career but all of that apparently counts for nothing.

The truth was she saw him as an embarrassment and a risk given he knew the truth between many of her mixed up stories of her youth and the photos were an absolute gift to her in order to justify casting him off.

Her mother, on the other hand, as A Black Woman was essential to her narrative and a useful accessory.

No cutting her off for years of abandonment.

Though I have no doubt she will be (and maybe already has been) dropped when it is expedient.

But the question that has never been answered is why TM never met H before the wedding ? Before the pap photos ( which I am convinced that M had a hand in).

And have him possibly poke holes in whatever narrative his daughter had fed to her fiancé? Not a chance!

Yes, I have rather suspected she played a part in the photos too.

Presumably M fed H some crap as to why he couldn't meet her father and spun this out until crunch time approached at which point she knew a more final solution was needed.

I think they'll hold on to their 'last home' until their 'next home' proves to be what they 'deserve' OR until they decide it's not meeting their expectations. They'll buy in the UK but hold on to Montecito as a 'bolt hole'. If UK doesn't work out then they'll sell Montecito, keep UK home as a bolt hole and 'move on'. They'll always want to have a 'back up plan'.

UncleColm · 30/08/2026 17:30

I think Harry was incredibly foolish not to meet his fiancées father...It says a lot about him. His family must have been so worried about the whole situation at the time. But he's a grown man who cannot be controlled. But not meeting her Dad was a massive red flag. (She wrote a gushing piece about her Dad on The Tig in 2014, just a few years before meeting Harry).

thenightsky · 30/08/2026 17:32

Wasn't it reported that the Queen was frustrated with the Daddy Markle situation and said something along the lines of 'why on earth doesn't Meghan just fly over and talk to him?'

Also interesting, read in tandem with @Mylovelygreendress’s blind and my not-so-innocent question re what’s in it for Ian Wace, is Wace’s connection to Paul Marshall, original and ongoing bankroller of GB News also with ties to Restore/ Farage. See also who Paul Marshall’s son is, and whose band he was kicked out of allegedly for radically differing political views - Mumford & Son, lead singer of which is Marcus Mumford, who is married to Carey Mulligan, who played the woman commonly accepted as playing Meghan in the second season of Netflix’s Beef (the promo party of which was the one where Mulligan and Meghan both showed up wearing a chartreuse coloured dress, Meghan apparently in contravention of the request she wear black like every other guest so only Carey - the lead actress - would stand out in publicity pics).

It’s this kind of incestuous cobweb of connections that Harry is just too thick to navigate by himself. He’s in hock to Wace/Marshall, who I’m pretty sure haven’t even decided what price they want to extract from him. They can’t get near William or Charles, Harry is the closest they can get.

It’s a grim business, even grimmer than it already was.

The character Carey Mulligan played in Beef 2 was nothing like Meghan, she did not have anything in common with her whatsoever as far as I can see.

They've never had any sort of plan! That's why they're now right back where they started 7 years ago. Only in a much weaker position.

Montecito Manor must be a nightmare to maintain. Taxes and insurance, some level of security, basic housekeeping and utilities maintenance. Plus those vast gardens. Keeping them from going to seed would cost a fortune. I'm not sure they can afford to keep it and a posh Cotswold residence indefinitely. I wouldn't be surprised to see it put on the market relatively soon.

twatwrangler · 30/08/2026 17:42

One could be forgiven for sensing a theme.

Anyone who could, or has, called anything about her into question has been dropped or accused of treating her badly.

Bad daddy.
Bad UK.
Bad RF.
Bad press.

It just makes me wonder what is so bad that she doesn’t want folk digging.

The Internet suggests he left in 2021 or 2022. So not that long, but yes, definitely not up to date!

Then he should know that at least one of his claims is incorrect. RAVEC doesn't do what the monarch wants. The late Queen is on record as requesting security for Harry which he wasn't given.

I'm sure that there was an increased threat level in the run up to the wedding and in the middle of the Brexit turmoil. But RAVEC don't make decisions based on the threat level 8 years ago.

If there is a current threat I'm sure we would all want Harry and family to receive appropriate security for a long as the threat lasts. All anyone is saying is that he shouldn't get it as a birthright, which is what he is demanding.

I very much doubt anyone senior at NF cares enough about Meghan to base a character on her.

I’ve always thought not meeting TM stank to high heavens. It was the biggest red flag ever and I think the RF were also a disgrace for going along with it.

Well, apart from suggesting it, encouraging it, offering him hospitality... what else could they do? Meghan was an adult, it was her decision.

Not for the first time am I wondering about the professional lives of a good handful of posters here.

twatwrangler · 30/08/2026 18:07

I don’t think the RF ‘went along with it’ but accepted M’s word perhaps that the relationship was fractured.

I’m not sure what they are meant to have done. Stage some sort of intervention and spring him out from behind a tapestry with a hearty hurrah?

I can only imagine the look on Oprah’s face if that had been done.

Ah. I don’t have to imagine…

They could easily have said to Harry get over to see her father or you’ll be getting married in Windsor registry office.

twatwrangler · 30/08/2026 18:10

I do agree it was a huge red flag.

So was Doria being the only family at the wedding. And the look on her face as she walked up the aisle.

Whatever one says about M, that just gave creepy wrong ‘un bastard to me.

And deny the world of the Windsor wedding that wasn’t for them but for the salty people? 😉
