I just read Harry might be liable for £48m costs. No wonder he wanted to see Charles. Trouble is he's won most of his court cases up till now and has made a tidy sum out of them. He must be insured against this surely. And the others will be liable too. But I don't suppose any of them has £48m to spare.

Mr Justice Nicklin has ordered the seven claimants (including Prince Harry) to pay Associated Newspapers’ costs on the indemnity basis — a significant step that removes the usual proportionality limit & resolves any doubt in ANL’s favor.

The Court found the way the claims were pleaded, pursued & maintained took the litigation “well outside the norm.”

An interim payment of £9.54 million must be made by 4pm on 28 August. Final recoverable costs (ANL’s bill stands at ~£34.5m) will be decided later by a Costs Judge if not agreed. Permission-to-appeal timetable also set.

There's speculation about who even owns that house, and what charges are on it.

Harry can't have much equity in it or he wouldn't be scurrying home to Pa.

That is the EA (Realtor or whatever) valuation, it will be bollox.

They had insurance to cover up to £16.2m of Association Newspapers' costs in the event of losing the case - but Friday's ruling means the newspaper group could now try to recover up to the £34.5m that it said it had to spend to defend itself. This means the duke and others could face a bill of some £18m.

He's got it all right, but he got cross when Harry turned up with his hand out and said 'I'm not an ATM' (lots of reports, Google it) So Harry's massive sense of entitlement may have put that particular source of cash out of reach.

My understanding is that EJ doesn't get a choice, if DM come after him for the joint- cost part of the bill. Happy to be told I'm wrong by people whose field this is.

I think a lot of the time with him it’s not so much ‘can’t pay, won’t pay’ but ‘can pay, won’t pay’. Such is his level of entitlement.
