I just read Harry might be liable for £48m costs. No wonder he wanted to see Charles. Trouble is he's won most of his court cases up till now and has made a tidy sum out of them. He must be insured against this surely. And the others will be liable too. But I don't suppose any of them has £48m to spare.

Harry has been very stupid and dragged other people into this court case, and then has proceeded to criticise the process in the judgement before cost awards have even been given. Charles will be asset rich but he’s unlikely to have £48 million just sitting around unaccounted for.

I predict another book, probably about his mother. A documentary about his return to the UK amid the Invictus games. An auction of personal items belonging to him and Diana.

Maybe they can have a garage sale to fund it. Harry and megs that is not the real royal family!

I fact checked this and the total costs for each of the GROUP of seven people (including Elton John and PH) will possibly be 2.6 million. The actual cost of was 34.5 million pounds (48 million dollars) and insurance already covers 16.2 million.

Hardly what it’s been presented in the media or on here.

So Harry will need to potentially find 2.6 pounds.

I believe he also is said to have told Doreen Lawrence he’ll ‘look after her’ ie pay her costs, plus on top of individual costs there are ‘common costs’ for which he - as they each are - is legally ‘jointly and severally’ liable.

I doubt that Sir Simon Hughes can pay up. I’m not sure about Sadie Frost. Doreen Lawrence definitely not.

So Harry might be potentially on the hook for much more than his own individual costs, and the other losing claimants might indeed want him to be so, should his intemperate ‘whitewash’ statement drop them all in it regarding an indemnity costs ruling.

(Simon Hughes, on the other hand, made a careful, dignified statement, for example - and others said nothing at all, I believe.)

Sadie Frost certainly won't. She would have seen this as her payday. What greedy fools they've shown themselves to be.

Did your 'fact checking' also make it clear that this is just the interim payment being requested by ANL? Final costs have not been determined, but could be much higher.

In a nutshell, I think they expected to settle for £££.

Even Doreen Lawrence is said to have wanted £650,000 when ANL offered to let her withdraw, in her case costs-free.

I have no interest in this actually, the thread caught my eye, I questioned it. I have no liking for any member of the royal family and even less for the mainstream media.

I hope DL has something firm in writing as Harry will probably try to wriggle out of paying and I’m sure the insurance company are looking at the whole case to see if they can cancel the cheque too.

Yes, he will. I imagine he will end up paying for most of the uninsured costs, and is probably angry that he was duped into thinking the case was stronger than it was.

He's well able to pay his own share of that. It was more the expectation that he'd just get his wallet out to cover all the others too that reportedly irked him. Harry’s problem is his desire to live like a super rich person without, it seems, having the money in the bank to back that up, and also then feeling entitled to ask others for it instead.

And I really would be interested to know which sources you think are more trustworthy.
Yes, of course every newspaper or television channel can put a slant on events but I would still trust mainstream media (I read from various sources for balance) more than social media which is mostly like the Wild West and often only has a passing relationship with facts.
Believing that all mainstream media is not credible is very dangerous.
Hence my picking up the point because I felt it important that it didn’t go unchallenged.

God I hope they don’t split the bill equally with Doreen Lawrence, where on earth would she get her hands on that kind of money? They must have all been absolutely delusional to rack up such a ridiculous legal bill with stopping to think how they would pay for it if it went tits up.
