Harry might be liable for £48m Costs

I just read Harry might be liable for £48m costs. No wonder he wanted to see Charles. Trouble is he's won most of his court cases up till now and has made a tidy sum out of them. He must be insured against this surely. And the others will be liable too. But I don't suppose any of them has £48m to spare.

Hugh Grant pulled out before it got to court because he is astute and could see how easily they might lose and have to pay out millions in costs.

Elton John is the most litigious celeb, he won’t care, he keeps full time lawyers and this will just come out the balance of whay was won

harry will have to pay his share, as he always does when he loses. Can’t beleive someone said Charles should pay for it, how utterly ridiculous and the media would have a field day if he did.

god Harry and Megan have made such a mess haven’t they . They had the world at their feet, and have behaved so badly it’s all come crashing down.

Well Charles is his dad and we would kind of expect parents to help out if needed in normal families? Especially when it wont even dent what he has

Or searching for 'Harry Elton ATM' will show you various versions of this response from Elton being reported.

Justdancevance · 30/07/2026 10:53

Elton is mad because his super injunction failed and the whole drama surrounding them made them toxic as a legal remedy.

He was using his kids to argue that tney would be affected by reporting on David’s sex life outside the marriage.

He must blame the British press for sharing this with international colleagues

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 10:54

What happened to the £30m Harry inherited from Princess Diana? I remember he said when pleading poverty that he wasn’t touching “my mum’s” money as he wanted to keep it for his children. Cheeky git.

I’m positive Charles is sending money Harry’s way because there is simply no way they can be maintaining their lifestyle on what is currently coming in - but it’s going to have to be well hidden as it’s not a good look. Charles paying the legal fees would be even worse.

The family found the money to pay off a woman Andrew raped so they shouldn’t have a problem paying for this of needed.

Exactly so! Harry was damaged at a very early age by his Mother's death imo. Of course its more complex than that & he bears responsibility too but if the RF can pay off a rapist they can pay off Prince Harry's legal debt. I feel very sad for Mrs Lawrence.

HelenaWilson · 30/07/2026 11:36

People in 'normal families' don't run up legal bills running into many millions of £ pursuing court cases for which they have little or no evidence to support their case and have little chance of winning, in pursuit of some personal agenda. Not just this case, but RAVEC too.

Normal family or not, it's not a father's job to bail out his middle aged son who is facing the consequences of his own unwise decisions.

I had sympathy for Hugh Grant & Co around the time of Leveson, when I read about the tactics used by some members of the press and the damage done to people's personal relationships because they suspected friends and family of leaking information.

But that was then. It seems H & co had little if any evidence to support this case.

Ooohh. I didn't know this titbit of info.

Hardy is a vile money grabber and Megan just amplifies this being equally as vile!

User867536 · 30/07/2026 12:36

What happened to his $100M Netflix deal??

Allseeingallknowing · 30/07/2026 12:57

Harry brought this on himself, no sympathy for him. I expect someone will help him out, probably Daddy.

I would help a child out financially.

But I am not Head of State.

If I were Head of State and that child had attacked, me, the institution, the law courts that are run in my name and the free press? I would not be paying them a penny because

(a) it would look bad to have paid my son to sue the press, lie in court, then accuse thevjudge of being part of an establish stitch-up when he lost - the press really wouldn't like it, nor would anyone else because

(b) he'd just use the money he'd saved to carry on attacking

Let the Mosely fund settle his bill. He's worn the costume, after all

HelenaWilson · 30/07/2026 13:15

What happened to his $100M Netflix deal??

Netflix dropped them. And I doubt if they made anything vaguely approaching $100m from the deal because they barely produced anything. The money would have been contingent on them actually creating stuff that would make money for Netflix.

Justdancevance · 30/07/2026 13:20

A professional would say, paying his bills is just enabling him. All your teaching him is to run up large bills that you will settle.

Far better to learn to live within his current means. Charles can set up a trust for his grandkids which can be tightly controlled so no legal frees or as ever stock

I thought that was the late Queen’s decision, to pay off Andrew’s accuser? I reckon Charles may not have made the same decision had he been in charge.

'Mrs Lawrence' is Baroness Doreen Lawrence, who sits in the House of Lords.

She is therefore responsible for making our laws, which the independent judiciary uphold.

She has just very unpleasantly publicly vilified a judge, implying that he was corrupt, after losing a case where she brought no convincing evidence.

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 14:05

Sadly I have read that Doreen Lawrence is very money obsessed.

I feel that all the plaintiffs had their eye on the financial prize, rather than still being distraught years later about invaded privacy. Sadie Frost? Faded from memory! With the exception of Elton and Hugh Grant who have, it is said, things to hide

I agree. Charles shouldn't pay for spoilt brat Harry. Meghan will just need to make a few more jars of jam.

He endorsed the payment for his appalling brother….Not saying he should pay for H, just pointing out that he has form…..

Oh snarky… my point was simply that many joined in on an original post which was blatantly factually inaccurate. I’m not wrong. All the ifs and buts don’t change that.

I have no interest in this actually, the thread caught my eye, I questioned it. I have no liking for any member of the royal family and even less for the mainstream media.

Wow! What a defensive post!

If you're so proud of your 'fact checking' abilities, to the point of making it your user name, don't get sniffy when someone points out that your 'facts' are not in fact facts.

I’m not wrong.

You are.

I fact checked this and the total costs for each of the GROUP of seven people (including Elton John and PH) will possibly be 2.6 million. The actual cost of was 34.5 million pounds (48 million dollars) and insurance already covers 16.2 million.

This is incorrect. The 'total' amount has not yet been determined but will almost certainly be way higher than the interim sum requested by ANL. You also can't possibly know what insurance will or won't end up covering. Insurance companies are very very good of getting out of paying. So that's speculation on your part. Not facts.

Maybe do some fact checking next time you're bored?

Actually no. I wouldn't expect someone to 'help out' their 41 year old estranged son who chose to indulge in civil litigation which was clearly extremely risky from the outset. Especially when he handled it in a way which publicly embarrassed Charles.

Harry is a big boy now. He has a home allegedly worth in the 8 figures. He can sell that if need be. I thought he was all about 'finding freedom' and becoming 'financially independent'?

William is only 2 years older and has somehow not turned out to be a perpetually angry brat . I am not aware of W making racist comments , throwing young women in swimming pools , punching his bodyguards or making derogatory comments about any staff Many of us have lost a parent in tragic circumstances yet manage to function as normal humans .
The late Queen was ( rightly) criticised for paying off VG so I doubt if KC will make the same mistake especially given H’s statement about one of HM’s judges .

I think after deductions, production costs, legal fees, running costs and taxes, Harry and Meghan netted about enough to buy a couple of bunches of flowers at a Tesco garage in Northants.

EmpressSisi · 30/07/2026 17:50

It’s crazy to think about how far Harry has fallen over the past decade. If you’d asked me in 2016 what his life would look like today, this is the last thing I would have expected. It’s genuinely mind blowing. I hope he’s at least found personal happiness, because his reputation, popularity, and wealth have taken a huge hit, all as a result of his own actions.

pilates · 31/07/2026 06:46

I really hope Charles doesn’t fund the court costs but if he does we will never find out. Harry needs to learn to grow up. Actions have consequences and people are very tired of his brattish behaviour.
